Crap I guess im not the only one that cant refine with Platesmithing.

I tried this last night and had good results:

1) Close the APB bot that is causing problems.
2) Login to the Gateway with a regular browser (I used Firefox)
3) Click the character you want to use for the bot
4) Click Professions
5) From the main window with your task slots, press "CTRL+F5" to force Firefox to do a full, no-cache refresh
6) Logout from the gateway in that Firefox browser
7) close Firefox
Open APB and try again

It probably doesn't have anything to do with me "fixing" anything, and it probably won't work for anyone else, but it sure worked for me last night, quickly and easily.

New issue for me today after patch.

CPU usage for each bot is *way* up.

If I run 1 bot, CPU fluctuates between nearly 0 and maybe 3% occasionally.

If I run 2 bots, CPU for one of them is nearly 0, aka normal from before patch. CPU for 2nd bot is 100%.

If I run 3 bots, 1 is 0, 2 are 50% each.

Running 4 bots - 1 is 0, 3 are 33-35% each.

5 = 0/25/25/25/25

The pattern is that anything past the first bot is consuming 100% cpu.

Not sure why this just began today - ran 5 bots last night (and several days before) just fine.

Do you guys have Firefox installed? Perhaps an installation of the browser has something to do with the modular version working in this program.


Edit: Maybe not, I don't have Firefox installed lol.

I've actually tried it with the newest firefox a couple older versions and without. =\

Thanks for uploading the bot,

unfortunately it doesnt work well for me at least when I run multiple instances of it because of "Job could not get started" after finishing a task. I cant manually start the task as well in the bots browser then.

- Copied the whole bot-program (including xulrunner and everything) in folders for each character i want to bot.
- All needed assets are ready to use for each char.
- I dont use more than the absolutely needed assets.
- It happens randomly to each char very often.
- If i restart the bot that fails to start the job it probably works. Otherwise I manually have to finish all finished tasks and restart the bot then to make it work.

Maybe its the gateway, I dont know since it seems to work for others. But not really for me.

EDIT: After some hours testing without bot: The troublemaker seems to be the gateway itself. When this error happens it wont let me start a new task whatever i do until i click on "leadership" there. When choosing a task then i can start the job.:confused:
No wonder the bot wont work then...

Made an account just to thank you Dragonef22. Its a very simple/effective fire-and-forget program and just brilliant in that regard. I wish this board allowed newbies even 1 rep power to give, but alas I can't do much more than express my gratitude and commend your work with this.

this bot isnt working. I've got 3 slots ready to use. Because of 3 open slots i can use. Yet when i try to fill m only 1 starts the task in slot 1, while slot 2 and 3 stay empty..

It kept on failing to start task, I didn't see it add the mercenary optional asset despite claiming to have found it...
Then it stopped being able to list tasks at all. I thought the problem was with the bot but then I opened up firefox and it had the exact same issue.
It does seem to sorta work in chrome. Aside from some crippling bugs like alchemy breaking (impossible to level) if you claim a reward via the gateway.

I am going to try the script based bot for now since that one is browser independent and chrome actually works... sorta... for leadership tasks... for now

EDIT: It started being able to see tasks again, but it still can't add the extras and as a result fails to start the task..

I had the same issue, then I realized you need to explicitly write out the name of the additional assets to use. It CANNOT leave additional assets blank, they must all be filled. If you do not have enough, get more common assets.

Did you make sure to check the checkbox next to each slot to make them active?

Thank you very much for making this bot. It is awesomely useful.

A few feature ideas/requests (if you feel like adding them):
1. Hours of operation - Automatically suspend the bot between certain hours to better avoid detection... (better yet, rather then suspend switch to a different task set. So you could switch to lower paying but longer lasting tasks at night).
2. Auto abort on X failed attempts to start a mission - avoid detection, at the moment it infinitely keeps reattempting.
3. Auto delay X to Y seconds (value determined randomly between the two inputted values) between each action - avoids detection.
4. Leaving optional assets blank would mean it uses the first asset on the list (instead of failing to start task) rather then having to type up all assets.
5. Make autoscroll active/inactive a checkbox.

Actually, now that I think about this. This is occasionally a bug that happens inside the game itself, forcing a restart of the game in order to be able to see tasks again.
