Ofc he is getting a % of the revenue. The question is if it's the only reason why he handed it over to RoS bot or if he is really super tired of updating THUD. I have no idea how long it takes to update after each patch so I can't say if that's likely or not.
He could've also started charging for THUD himself...but he is probably afraid that this would hurt his reputation more than this. If RoS bot guys are really the only one that can update it (which I highly doubt) then handing it over to them is the only way to keep it running. Quite convenient, isn't it?

He could've make patreon or any other crowdfunding website running and I belive that many people would donate him without any issues, or even create free version with less features available that'd be also fine with me, but the way it is now hell no I'd rather find a way to bypass/crack it rather than pay any $ to ros-bot cheaters.

So what if he did? He can do as he pleases - we're not entitled to anything, although some people seem to think otherwise. If anything, KJ actually deserves to make some profit for all his years of working on this.

Wow, what a sh*tshow. To be fair, I am in the gaming industry for over 10+ years. A long explanation text with "health" put up as the reason is always, I repeat, ALWAYS an excuse. If he would have issues with his health, he'd just give up or given it to someone else. Period. But he found the ressources to create long excuses. And the open source excuse... EXCUSE ME? You're talking about a piece of software which is in fact illegal by itself since it damages a companies sales model and bringing up "legal" reasons for not going open source? Open source could make this software more legal. You even brought up that this software has features which make it illegal? If someone is buying that excuse, s/he should grow up. And then he brought up as reasoning that the software needs to be protected from automations. Yeah, that's why you sold to a creator of automations. One, which is based in a country where they can flee from public prosection.
A vast majority of people would contribute to TH. I did in the past as well. I just didn't cared about "A nice colorful badge" or stuff like that. I don't need that validation.
Because D3 without UI enhancements just ... sucks.
Let's go over the pricing model. ONLY TH is double the price of their normal bots. So having the game automated is cheaper then playing it with enhancements? Why could that be? Because your royalty fee or in other words, your share is too damn high? If it's business standard it is about 60-80%. So their pricing is reasonable, otherwise they wouldn't earn a penny. With that pricing model you can buy 6 copies of the entire game every year. With the "enhanced" one 9. Think about that, folks. 3$ for a month or 10$ for a season would be fair, but not 50! For that price I can get a AAA-game that entertains me without the need of UI-enhancements.
The latest and waaaaay older versions of the software have already been reverse-engineered. They were compiled by the same infrastructure.
You as a person who always preached against automation and for free software should be ashamed! If this is an aprils fool, it's a really bad one. Boo you, boo! If you'd be really just sick, you would not care if this software gets pirated, misused or whatever. You'd have more important things instead of fooling an entire community.
The sour taste of money was just to good to say no. It's way to good to have the balls and be real. Instead, it spoiled you.

Most of the top 100 got on the leaderboards were banned in the most recent banwave for botting. Including prominent youtubers.

At the beginning on turbohud.freeforum, there was the vip section with a lot of information, I don't know if there is the same on this site, I have already paid once and donate.
For updating, patchdiff with ida (for major update, you have to verify offsets) and generate files with Enigma work.
I did not keep the files necessary for the patchdiff, but if one have a D3 with enigma mathching version (not to old ^^), you can patchdiff then rebuild a free hud.

Dude go away. You are actually pathetic. Your other account got removed and you keep making new accounts trying to get people to download your Chinese virus.

The only features of TH that are a must for me are map reveal+mobs (#1 feature) and the inventory mods where you can quickly see ancient and primals for quick salvaging. Does anyone know of alternatives?

This is all I want to. I'd like to know of an alternative too

And numeric buff & cooldown timers. -_- (And maybe, if possible: The buff filters like CoE, Focus/Restraint, and even specific chosen buffs etc. at chosen location of the screen would be my final wish.
)
That in 2021, an external third party program has to fix THIS in a game --- a game, that even consists of (some) mechanics that actually require coordinated gameplay & teamplay etc.
Though, the invisibility of plenty of spell/item effects aswell as affixes while these actually represent the most important features to focus and/or avoid... well.
Blizzard and gaming interfaces --- Everytime, horribly shuffled through placement of all kinds of related elements, missing important data (I just say "Shield absorb value"), missing basic tooltips, ..... a simple mess of an interface, everytime...^^

Exactly, he obviously sold thud off to Rosbot. In the other thread he states that it only takes him a few hours to update after every patch which can probably easily be done. I would of accepted the health and personal reasons excuse until I realized that this Tyreal guy is from Rosbot, a known d3 botting software company/business and that they will immediately start monetizing thud and start adding automation features which should go against KJ's personal stance. The end of support for thud was also conveniently posted a few days before the start of a season too which also happens to be the most popular time people play diablo 3.
That is fine because he deserves some money for his work on Thud over the years. My complaint is that Rosbot is charging too much and I wish he would of done it himself and directly charged a small fee for using Thud and many of us would be happy to support him. Instead he is playing games with this partnership with rosbot and forcing us to support a known botting company or hacked chinese versions in order to keep playing diablo 3.
In essence, KJ is afraid of charging a small fee for his work which many people would be more than happy to because he is afraid of the backlash or whatever.

If charging for it is so bad then perhaps the Chinese version should be free too? Again - I won't be paying for it, but I understand if KJ finally wants to profit from his hard work ..
