KJ, you have made a great contribution to the d3 community with the addon and keeping it free and updated for all of these years. I personally would of quit long ago without it because d3 is not playable without it. The problem is that many, many diablo 3 players will quit over this because they will not pay the overpriced cost that Rosbot currently has and the game sucks without thud.
I think you sold thud to rosbot, indirectly for a set amount to rosbot. You have stated in the other thread that it only takes you a few hours of your time to update thud every patch which i believe you can easily do so again.
Dude, just man up and do it. Just say 'sorry everyone, i would like a small fee for my work to use my addon' and there will only be a small amount of backlash. It is okay to charge users for your hardwork. Stop playing games with this hidden partnership or deal with rosbot. I'm sure most people would want to support you and only you instead of rosbot, a botting company, or Chinese versions.
If however, i am wrong in my opinion and you just really wanted to quit, then i apologize and wish you the best in your retirement.

Allowing rosbot to use thud for automation purposes should go against your personal stances that you yourself have stated and just simply letting chinese hacked versions get market share and profit off your work instead of the original Thud you created is very unfortunate. Just charge a small fee for thud and many people will be happy to support you.

I praised John for the work he did and got thanks for it. This was before I learned some of the back story about who actually made it originally. KJ sold out, there is no other way to say it. I'd have paid someone my self out of my own pocket to keep it going as it was. Yet now it's a bot programme, whatever license you use it will be on Blizz's radar as a bot programme and those of us dumb enough to use it because we can't play without it will be targeted with the botters. It's going to get us all banned.
Ros-bot already screwed up their latest release, 21.4.1.0 as it runs for about one or two minutes then crashes with no error generated.

wth dude should just quit and delete all thud source, selling out to botters? wtf???? what a way to say goodbye throwing gasoline into the fire and running away
I would gladly pay to a honest reputable developer, I ll never pay to rat scum cheaters .. should've just be honest and explain the situation
Also I'm sure the greenlight you had from blizzard is gone (non official but obviously they allowed you to run this), botter reputation is trash and now associeted with thud, people buying this now prepare you gonna get banned for sure 100%

Not the only reason for them to argue THud usage now. Blizzard sold D3 classic once, the xpac RoS once (without the "Bot"-suffix
) and to most of the people who did still play D3 also the Necromancer. Each sold once (not counting people getting banned and rebuying the game over and over). Besides that, they did earn no further money from the game in contrast to the still ongoing "support" (servers & the minor patches (sometimes even medium-sized ones)).
The money they did earn for their product --- sold to specific ToS.
The community was unhappy with many issues regarding the UI & QoL changes that THud on the otherhand did provide.
=> They did not have to worry about these things, but this was not their loss in money since it was basically free developer work.
=> Saving them a lot of work. Especially cause they would have had to implement all these things into the game files & working instead of an external overlay.
Now, that RoSBot is charging money on this tool, people are earning money at the base of their product --- and without Blizzard getting their share. On top of that, an ongoing, license-based income. (Irregular [voluntary] donations to someone for his work would be something else. Compare this to someone on the street, playing songs of famous musicians (maybe even with some alterations to the melody etc.) and getting some hard cash earnings while actually also promoting the original artists by that V.S. taking their songs with these lil' alterations ( "remix" huehuehue ) and then selling their songs as your private album.) ~°~°~ [ Still not the perfect comparison, but it kinda sets the point. :Þ ]
The only chance for them to get their share out of it, is to ban these people so that they (most likely) will repurchase D3, RoS & the Necromancer pack. ... even if they don't: They wouldn't lose anything cause they don't risk losing any such ongoing source of income like terminated D3 subscriptions.
... PLUS: The banned people would know it was their own fault that this happened. That they took the risk and lost ( = no basis for filing a complaint).
So, yes, now they REALLY got a reason to take action against THud.

Blizzard does not care if anyone that uses turbohud at all. Nobody in its entire history has ever been banned for it. The only issue is maybe the new automation features such as automatic pickup, auto cast or whatever is going to be on the new turbohud.
I highly doubt anyone will get banned because blizzard doesnt bann shit. Even bottors barely even get banned. Every season, there are only a few bottors that get banned at the very top of the leaderboards and thats a fact. Which is mostly done for PR purposes anyway.
The only difference from this season and last season is that there will be less people playing from the high price of turbohud and that might force blizzard to actually add new features into the game but that is doubtful.

If in the free Chinese version of TH in the TurboHUD file you delete the plugins folder, and replace it with the plugins folder from the trial version of ROSBOT, and then replace the User file in this folder with your User folder with plugins, then you will get the previous TH.
TurboHUD Update Downloader close.

hi , does anyone knows some c# programmer that can do some reverse engineering, and for exsample take ROS-BOT's trial version and just deobfuscate it and decompile it and remove restriction of a code ? Yeah lets make war , lets crack the cracker, lets exploit the moneygrabbing exploiter!!!

Would have been better if it was just closed instead of commercialized.
Very sad...

Important question guys, is it possible to create multiple accounts in ROS-bot, to have multiple 7 days licenses?

Just seeing this now. Pretty bummed about it - D3 is nothing without THUD. I for sure am *not* going to pay a subscription fee for using THUD in the future. A one time payment perhaps, but not this. So, a big "thank you" goes out to KJ and what will most likely be a goodbye goes out to D3. Ah well.
Take care, KJ.

I'm not buying this story at all, he handed it over to RoS bot who's now gonna be charging for using it? Let's be real, he made an agreement with them for % of profit from selling licenses.
