Firstly id like to apologize for being the however many person to not understand what im doing wrong. Im completely new to WoW and installing addons. I cannot get this to work for me so if you could tell me where im going wrong id greatly appreciate it.

I play on HC classic anniversary, I downloaded the RXP Leveling Classic.rar, Extracted it to the Addons folder (not the RXP Addon) but i still can't see past the free version.

I can see the RXP Leveling under my addons in game but nothings happening. I figure its because of whatever the "Saved Variables" thing your mentioning is. When i look up what that means or how to get rid of it i get told to go to the WTF folder > Saved Variables and inside is just Blizzard_Console and Blizzard_Console.lua.bak which i tried deleting those thinking it was the 2 that you were referring too but that didnt do anything for me either.

I know im doing something wrong but im too inexperienced with this to understand and would love if i could be told where i went wrong. I can provide any other info too if i need. I just dont know where else to go in game without the addon since ive never played before

Hello thank you for providing the files, I'm able to get it to work fine.

I have one question, for Anniversary servers should I be using the classic.rar or era.rar one? I don't understand the difference between them, however I went with the files inside of the era.rar

Winrar is free
7zip is free

Vanilla, Hardcore, Anniversary are all running on the Era client.

Basically install to the game you are playing

I used 7zip to extract, i also found a diffent saved variables folder with all the addons i have and deleted the 2 restedxp files inside it but it still isnt working ingame.

So you are new to Wow addons.

I am confused.

You extracted RXP leveling to addons and it created? RXP leveling folder with Era folder inside and a toc?

I ask that because people seem to extract RXP leveling to RXP leveling. Making that RXP leveling/RXP leveling and then putting it in the addons difrecotry.

Then they complain it does not work.

When All I said was extract RXP leveling/ to addons that is it.

Sorry to be confusing but yeah I'm new to atleast manually installing addons, i use curseforge so first time I'm doing something myself. Extracting made a folder named RXP Leveling and inside that folder was a folder called Classic and a file RXP Leveling.toc . Since you are saying inside should be an Era folder i assume this is where I'm going wrong

I do not personally know why people manually update addons

Curseforge updater can do it automatically
Wago updater can do it automatically
Wowup can do it automatically

I use Curseforge updater, I update the addon and my folder stays there and there is no issue, it shows in game.

Here is what I did to get it to work

For users that already have rxp addon installed I recommend this:
NOTE: If you NEVER had rxp addon installed at all, I believe you can just start at step 4 (have not tried myself since I'm not under this category)


1) Uninstall the rxp addon (I used cursed forge)
2) Navigate to your World Of Warcraft folder

NOTE: If you delete the entire WTF folder, you are deleting all your addons settings and UI for all characters.

3) You will see a folder named WTF (I deleted the entire folder, but you can look for the specific variables tied to the rxp addon if you want)
4) Download the files that the OP provided (Click on the link beside Leveling Guides, Extract to Addons)
5) Ensure you have WINRAR downloaded and that it's updated
6) Open rxp.zip, this file contains MULTIPLE rars double click on which one you would like to use. It will open a new window that should contain RXP Leveling FOLDER. Click EXTRACT and navigate to your World Of Warcraft AddOn folder. Click Ok.

IF YOU DID THIS SUCCESSFULLY IT WOULD LIKE LIKE THIS: WHATEVER IS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE FOR YOU\World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\RXP Leveling

7) Now go to curse forge and reinstall the rxp addon.
8 ) Boot up WoW hopefully the above worked for you.

THERE SHOULD BE NO .ZIP/.RAR inside of the AddOns folder if you truly followed the above just two folders with the paths below

WHATEVER IS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE FOR YOU\World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\RXP Leveling
WHATEVER IS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE FOR YOU\World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\RXPGuides

Well If people go to the link select the file and download it. They have RXP leveling.rar

But for some reason, people want to download an entire directory just for one file.
So it takes my file and then puts it in a zip.

So If I put files in that directory, people would still download the whole directory for some reason.

This is what confuses me

People know Era is vanilla, Hardcore, and Anniversary.
They know when they start the game they select era.

So I have no idea why they are taking the classic one, when they know vanilla, Hardcore, and Anniversary is not classic.

Well if people did what I said and not take the file, run, not read and then come back and complain it does not work.

There would be no issue.

All it is

Download the file, extract to the addons directory that's it.

But people do it wrong and then complain it does not work and blame my file.
