Hello all. As is evident by the user title, I haven't really (if ever) posted here. But I suppose I've found cause to change that.
So, in that respect. I've read through all 542 posts in the thread and thus far I haven't come across what exactly to do when a patch comes out. My model changes and such worked perfectly as intended, and for that I give much praise to Glitchy.
However, since he's out on extended leave I open this question to the rest of the community. The following are the steps I took and the problems I encountered after 2.4 was relesed today:
1) Removed all my personal mpq files from the data folder.
2) Patched 2.4
3) Created a new list in Glitchy's MES for race-to-race.
4) Created new mpq files for all model changes.
5) Edited previous blp files into new mpq files via MyWarcraftStudio. (To fix skin issues)
6) Put new mpq files with pre-patch blp file modifications in Data folder.
7) Launched WoW via WoWME.exe

Encountered critical error, read as such:
This application has encountered a critical error:
ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftWoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:AC554C30
The instruction at "0xAC554C30" referenced memory at "0xAC554C30".
The memory could not be "written".
WoWBuild: 8089
9) Removed new mpq files from Data folder.
10) Launched WoW via standard executable.
11) No problems followed. Models reverted to standard.
Now, I mentioned that I used blp files I extracted from the pre-patch common.mpq in the new mpq files I created post-patch. While I doubt that would have been cause for the issue, I figured that it wouldn't hurt to mention it just incase.
The other issue I thought might be the case was the MEF. I'm unfamiliar with whether or not these need to be updated after patches, but it seems to me that this could be the case. A confirmation on that would be highly appreciated.
And there it is. Sorry if the post was a tad long, I didn't want to leave out too much. Much thanks for any help. =)
