In the bottom left of MWCS there is a setting for what sortof files
it's gonna show when you open up a patch. Check if that setting is
on .blp or .m2 or something. It should be set to "ALL FILE" Hope that helps.

No, it is set to all files. This is the picture exactly how it shows it to me of the Patch.MPQ file. Yes the game actually does work properly with my files like this in case you were wondering. Thanks for the help though, if you can think of anything else, let me know.

Hey Evilpookie, great guide. Except I'm having a lot of trouble. When I open common.mpq all I see is one CHARACTER folder. I don't see the other Character folder. Pretty much one of the first steps, so I didn't get to far.

Hi , very nice guide but it seems i get stuck somewhere in the middle with the (patch-2MPQ) when i go and look for it its just not there. Did i miss anything?

also the end/home thing doesnt work with the MEfix... is this due to wow updates?

As of the latest patch.
patch-2.mpq DOES NOT EXIST.
It has all been merged into
expansion.mpq
patch.mpq and
common.mpq

Hope that solves it.

Ahh! This is killing me. I've seen the same questions posted a handful of times. I'm getting fed up with such questions that even I could answer. (Considering I just started today with the guide, they're pretty self-explanatory questions) I'm sure some of the people who know the ins and outs of Model changing would probably be annoyed and less likely to answer other people's questions. I too have had the problem with missing the "Character" folder from the patch.mpq. I too have had the problem (I guess it's a problem.. not really) with having no Patch-2.mpq. And yes I also have the problem with "Unable to validate game version" when I try to log in. I think it's time we stop asking the same question hundreds of times and asking for help. It's clear there may be no way, or maybe a different method to get this to work. I suggest we calm down and let the guys who know what they're doing, do their stuff without being hounded daily. Us nagging them for help doesn't mean there will be a faster fix. If anything, it'll probably delay the "fix" for it. I apologize for my impatience. I just think 2/3 of the total pages are just the same questions rephrased. Let's just wait to see what the Contributors have to say about these problems. Until then, stop worrying about changing your model and just play WoW in the meantime as your default race.

I read a post just a awhile ago and... Well It wasn't exactly contributing.. as mine isn't exactly. He was banned for I guess "Flaming" and I hope that isn't taken that way. It's just, I don't have much knowledge of how model editing works and I have a handful of questions myself. I just have to sit tight and wait for some clarification which I think alot of us are gonna be in the same boat. I again apologize for my impatience. I'm just frusterated with trying to model edit. I've tried atleast four times in the past (Anywhere from 2 months ago or a year ago). If I could contribute anything, I would. But again, I lack the knowledge to help any others unless it's minor questions like "Where did I go wrong in the process?" Other than that; I can't help, I don't think. I wish for the best to get these problem's addressed and out of the way.

yeah p[retty sure i did everything right but when i click on my modeleditfix.exe and all that, make sure the numlock is on, hit end, log in, at succesful blah blah hit shift+7 on the number pad, have tried a bunch of numeous times, i get this unable to validate game version maybe a corrupted file blah blah nonsense from WoW any help plz?
