    NE->BE Model swapping questions.

    If I were to switch models, say, switching the Nelf models for Belf ones, would they still use the Nelf skins? Or will they draw directly from the Belf ones? Would I be able to recolour skins for Nelf use? Or will it just feed from the Belf skins, making all Nelfs pink Belfy-colours?

    I'd answer your question if i hadn't just woke up this second. Read the following, and all your questions will be answered:

    • BLP Texturing / Reskinning & Retexturing:

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...rface-hud.html
    {The above guide, quetioningly labelled as 'Interface Editing', is a nice equivalent to those other BLP-Editing/Retexturing Guides out there, especially for those sole visual-learners. It uses the regular; MyWarcraftStudio, BLP-Convertor and Paint/Photoshop. 100% Noob-Friendly.}

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...texturing.html
    {The above guide covers pretty much 90% of what re-texturing consist of. It includes file-types, tips, techniques, general rules, and walk-throughs. 90% Noob-Friendly.}

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ome-skins.html
    {This guide revolves around BLP-Editing via the very handy tool named BLP Convertor and using MyWarcraftStudio. 97.5% Noob-Friendly.}

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...reskinner.html
    {Ah. The guide i used to learn how to re-texture. 100% pics makes this guide VERY easy to follow. The main focuses consist of BLP Converting and photoshop / paint editing. This guide also uses MyWarcraftStudio. 95% Noob-Friendly.}

    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...l-editing.html
    {The above guide revolves entirely around MyWarcraftStudio Editing. Although it does focus on the necesarry techniques relative to Reskinning, the main focus here is switching models. Primary Learners or 'Noobs' may find this rather confusing, therefore, in relation to this topic, i rated this guide as 60% Noob-Friendly.}

    • MyWarcraftStudio Editing (Basics):

    Thanks. I got reskinning down pretty good, and I'll likely share my edits later, but this should help to finish up the holes in my knowledge. +rep

    I read through the guides you linked me to, and they're very, very good. However, especially in the model-editing tutorial, my question is still unanswered. I waded through pages of questions and found a question relating to mine somewhat, though it also was unanswered. Maybe I should rephrase myself a bit.

    I know how to retexture things, and am working on a Big Giant Edit Thing.
    I know, in theory, how to swap models and edit them also.

    What I am wondering is, since the .M2 is the mesh, and the .BLP is the paint, and supposedly the .SKN is the map that tells it where to put the paint, could I, after swapping the models, edit the Night Elf Male texture to be like the Blood Elf Male's texture, only changing the skin colour to reflect the various skin colours of night-elf males?

    I'm sorry if I'm not catching on, I'm just kinda overwhelmed ^-^;
