Hey guys, i've been following this thread and it looks good! I've done a reskin of the Corrupted Ashbringer to get the 'rune sword' feel, I tried to use the high warlord 2hander but couldn't find the blp file =/ anyway here it is;
edit; i dont know if its possible to change the colour of the skull glow, if anyone knows please give a nudge![]()
Looks pretty cool deface...any chance you can split the screenshots into vertical displays? so as not to extend the page window? lol
Oh, and for all those people linking "The Hungering Cold"
I want you to look closely at my following words.
That is a cheap excuse for a "Frostmourne."
It's cartoony, and looks childish.
The skull on Frostmourne is a goat skull. Try actually looking at concept art, ot Wrath of the Lich King's front page before linking The Hungering Cold. Using that as a "Frostmourne" is getting really cheesy, and old.
Anyways, sorry for that...Hungering Cold links make my skin crawl.
ETA? Uhm, here in a few days, probably...I'm actually reworking the Head Armor, the boots, and revamping a 'skin' for the human model, to look a little more...cold :-P
I'll release the MPQ before I start making the 'custom' private server items.
And to answer if everyone needs to D/L the MPQ to get the changes? Yes, they do, this is a client side edit, as almost every edit on this site is. Sorry, just how it works...
If someone knows how to get around that on a private server environment, they're welcome to try.
As for getting rid of the green glow (or 'default' glow) on a weapon...no clue, I've asked multiple times, never got a straight answer, or a reply...but I assume the answer is 'no.'

EDIT: also, deface, with a little playing around in photshop or gimp you can add 'runes' (glowing if you feel the need and are familiar with filters) to any weapon you can find...just by taking the runes from one weapon and pasting them onto another...
of course to get them how you want them, takes some playing around.![]()

Yeah. Like I said i was trying to find the horde warlord 2hander but couldnt find the skin =/ thats the right 'shape' and ir eckon I could do something nice with it. You having a problem finding it too ?
Ok, final update until 'release.'
Here's what I'm working on
- New head/ feet armor for the death knight.
- Changiung the edit that Mallagar posted (human death knight skin replacement)
- My edit will change the colors to look more 'ghostly' and 'cold' also will be changing the look of all the silver/grey hair for the male face and head,
and the female head, so it goes along with the changes in the skin.
That's A LOT of damned .blp files to recolor and edit and name...so don't ask about 'em, lol.
After I'm done with the re-texturing of everything I will release it in an MPQ named "Patch-d.mpq" the D is for death knight, you can rename it or repack it as you see fit.
ETA? When I'm done, you'll know.![]()

Wow, your editing skin and hair BLP's? I was editing the human's to stuff like that (although, not 'cold' more like 'dieing') and I stopped the project due to me being to lazy to change all the textures. If you do all this perfectly...I don't even know what to say about how much awesome will be flowing out of you. This is the most excited I've been about a model editing project since learning how to go to GM island on 1.11/1.12
"Step right up and shake hands with the devil"
Well, including all the scalp, hair, face upper, lower and etc .blp's It looks to be about...uhm, I think I counted about 78-80ish in total. It should also be noted I'm only editing the lightest skin tone, for the human model.
For the most part, I'm doing only two or three main adjustments...color/brightness...levels...and then finally hue/saturation. I've got the value scribbled down so each file is set equally, so everything comes out the same colors.
Also have the eyeball and the face tattoo and hairpiece thing all in one file, that I just paste over the 'lower' facial texture as a new layer, and blend it in as needed....
Just some small prepping and laying out of the processes so it's not a pain in the ass overall to edit each thing one at a time, I can just open, select all, filter filter filter, paste, check everyhing over...convert to indexed color and move on.
but i also get hung up on glows and details and painting in another 4-5 layers on the faces to get more shadows and etc going...ohhhh wellllll heheh.

Yeah after the death knight is done...it'll be time to make the undead a little less...clean, more rotting and zombie like.

Btw, sorry I didnt mention it, but jenack, that recolor is lookin' good
I really wish someone could tell me whether or not editing a weapons original glow is possible or not....and if it's an .m2 edit or something else...
don't need a guide, just a point in the direction.
