Ok... tell me what I'm doing wrong.

1) Download and save gearme into a folder on my desktop
2) Open a notepad and save it as a .bat
gearme 63532 34196
3) Dragonheart Piercer > Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas
4) Enable "Run as Administrator" on gearme.exe
5) Open the WoW Login screen
6) Minimize Wow and run the .bat file
(Success)
7) Close the .bat file
Maximize and login and select: Huntard.
9) Profit...? For some reason, at this point, I'm not seeing any visible changes.

I run windows7 64bit.
Suggestions?

**UPDATE** With the new version that you uploaded on the 17th I no longer get a successful prompt. When I run the .bat it says "Locating dbc..." and then ends with an "Item not found" and instantly closes.

On xp the wow.exe not found has been fix but there is still a problem

I used the ID from display ID of wowhead i tried with the id from atlas loot but it still does'nt work.

Any ideas?

Not working for me either.
I created a .bat file
created the list as told, using the display id from the source code (nit the item IDs...)
run the .bat while in the login screen. then it says:
Process "Wow.exe" found!
Handle obtained!
Finding: 86255
Replaying with: 45888
Memory write failed!

Dont know why its failing...

any ideas?

I think this isnt working becuase the new update download gives a .rar version, i not sure wether this was intended but the previous version was a .exe , this new version will not process the .bat file i create with gearme ***** ***** in it. It just closes instantly similar to how the old version did when u opened it without arguments. I didnt have any trouble with the old version changing the mpq but it wouldnt show up in game as im using windows 7 therefore im forced to use the new version which also isnt working...

if thats the case, stick with the old one but you need to RELOG the changes are not instant.

also like i said in the tut, the changes are not visible at the logn screen. only ingame

as for it working for some of you and not working for others, i cant really answer that. im still an amatuer programmer.

before i released this second version i did testing on 7 different computers. mine, my girlfriends, several people from class, and even 3 different machines at our local internet cafe. all of which it worked perfectly, so im at a loss here. anyone who is willing to help me to help make this tool better and more efficient is welcome. because this is only a learning experience for me. im not here to compete, look good, or gain attention.

as for a few posts i saw, if you run the script while logged in and ingame, the results are not instant. you need to reload the game to see them. and as always, make sure you are using the correct display id. for example from wowhead, but not the url id.

Actually that's wrong. As you can see that's the 359 version of the robe. However I just realized if you go into the 359 version page and look for displayid there, you will find the 372 displayid.
A bit weird.
This explains why gearme couldn't change my chest earlier this week when I was still wearing the 359 robe.
Gonna give it another whirl and see if it works now.

As you can see that's the 359 version of the robe.

You asked for displayId for itemId 65262. That is the 372 version. The displayId is 94249
The itemID for the 359 version is 65261. The displayId is 94255.

You mixed up your values somewhere. WoWHead is not incorrect.
