Full armor/weapon swap. The Easy Way!

This is not my guide! I have not come up with this but I havent seen it on this site yet and it is a much much easier way then the guides on here and allows for a easily done full armor swap.

So, as some people have figured out how to change the player model, and some are still having trouble with their weapons and armour, i've made this thread.

It comes from an old, simple way to do this, that was though dead in 2.0. However, i've been digging and it still is doable, and still is as simple. So, here we go:

Firsty, download youself a HEX editor, i recommend this one: http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delph...vi32/xvi32.htm

For this example, we will turn Whirlwind Axe into High Warlord's Battle Axe

This is the file we're looking for:



MAKE A COPY OF THIS FILE FIRST


We open this into our Hex Editor

We'll see loads of shit on the screen, but don't be alarmed, just stick with me.

Hit CTRL+F (Apple+F if you're a mac user) and search for the item YOU have (Whirlwind Axe), Make sure that case senstive is OFF and you're searching DOWN.

As in the screen below, you will see Whirlwind Axe on the right 3 times. On the right, click the last letter of the last Whilrwind Axe you see.

Now, if you look on the left, you will see a space with '0' in it, and the

n 2 boxes with 2 sets of numbers. These are the boxes we need to change.



Minimise the Hex Editor to your task bar so we don't get confused.

Go to : http://wow.allakhazam.com/

Now search for the weapon that you want to change INTO (High Warlord's Battle Axe)

Click XML under the item name

What we need on this page is the number between <displayinfo></displayinfo>, in this case 31958. Copy this number.

Go to http://mrcalculator.com/Home.php?Fun...g1=hexdec.html.

Put the number in the box and hit the Hex key.

The hex code we have now is '7cd6'. This is the magic number

As you'll notice, you have to put the numbers in backwards from as they appear from the hexi calculator



Hit CTRL+S and close it down.

Open WoW.

You will notice immediatley that nothing changes on the login screen:



However, once you login, you can see that it works perfectly, even with the enchants:



This works EXACTLY the same with armour models

can oher people see the change too? if so wouldent they suspect somthing, also does it change the item into this other item completely, or does it just make it look like a diffferent item?

no, like all model edits, its 100% client side. And no, this is all cosmetic(for looks)

I am still confused as to where I put the hex numbers in the editor exactly.

I am trying to replace "Hungering Spineripper" with "Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker".

I found the Thunderfury code which is "778e" but still confused as to what box and what line i enter it into...

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it in. But when i load into the game the Thunderfury is on my hip instead of my back? Any ideas how to fix that?
EDIT2: I cant get armor to work =/

Do you have msn? I can go through it with you if you want. I gave myself full tier 5 and duel wield hungering cold this method rocks, so much easier than the MWS

This is either patched or its a very bad mentioned place where to put the numbers for everything exept Whirlwind axe...

Like Screeny of the hex editor from anyone who got the numbers correct on any model exept the WW axe...

And very confusing saying "look for the "0's" and such if its only for the WWaxe?

you can also find the number by dl'ing WOWmodelviewer and look at the text.doc called "items" in there you can look up the desirred weap and then take the second nr. f.eks.

When i mark all the 'Dirk' in the Hax Workshop:

After the 6B there comes the 00. So it's now:
6B00
(Dirk.Dirk.Dirk.Dirk.)

After the 6B00 there comes: 7756 .
(Dirk.Dirk.Dirk.Dirk.vW)

It's now:
4469 726B 0044 6972 6B00 4469 726B 0044 6972 6B00 7756

And, as i know, i shall change the 7756 to the Hex!
But, when i change it to: E877 , it show like a white box in-game !

When I do this, my weapon icon gets replaced by a "?", and the weapon model becomes invisible :confused:.

I got the hex code "778e", how do I have to change that code to make it work?

Some of you might of forgot to turn the code around? so if you have the code of 778e, you would put in 8e77

thats not really tier 5.. its Tier 4
