Is there any way to stop AVG from detecting the "trojan" in modelchange.exe? I don't want to uninstall it because I've been using AVG for over 3 years and never had a virus on my computer before. Great anti-virus program..

Well I just had some one sell all my gear, expect for pvp rewards etc. I am assuming the keylogger was from this program since I've never had issues w/ account security till now. The gm's took about a day or two but I got it all back. I really hope it wasn't this program.
Heh stop using it then. It's your loss. I will not repeat myself again.
It's clean.
When i try to launch the modeledit.exe thing it says: "Windows cannot access the specific device, patch or file. you may not have appropriate permission to access the item. what should i do? I've placed the .MPQ file that i wanna use in the data folder. and the modeledit.exe thing is in the WoW folder. so whats wrong? :P /MZ
I'm having the same problem with the permission error. I used the previous fix and medel edits before the latest patch and they worked fine. Now I'm having this problem. Help please!
-EDIT- Fixed. Disable virus protection completely, restart and do your file adds. Good to go!

i know this isnt the place for questions but its been bugging me for days, i downloaded a Tauren to night elf modification and it wouldnt work, so i seeked out a .exe to fix it, i discovered i needed whats in this forum, i have downloaded all of them, some of them close right before wow opens then i get the "wow error" "Invalid file worldofwarcraft\data\tauren.m2 blah blah, and i have no idea which version or type of .exe i need, if anyone could assist i would be eternaly graitfull, Taurens FTL.
make a new file?? so that AV dont dectect aint that the simple thing to do?
Pipson could u expand on that? what file must i remake? u mean make a new launch file and replace it?
He wasn't talking to you I think. Anyway, what you should do is download the newest modeleditfix.exe for live servers (not public test realm) put in ur \programfiles\worldofwarcraft folder. put the MPQ with change in your \programfiles\worldofwarcraft\data folder. Then to launch the game you start the modelchange.exe . it will start WoW for you. Don't use normal WOW icon to start WoW.Originally Posted by jackolas

okay so basicly u just need the 2.1.3 version of the modeleditfix.exe, do what it says and ur fine, if u have AVG, or any Virus scanner it *MIGHT* pick up the false positive.Originally Posted by jackolas
After turning off AVG, I'm now getting an issue with the file path when opening the ModelFix.
Modelfix is in the correct directory [C:\ProgramFiles\WorldofWarcraft...
Any ideas?
I'm not going to remake it just because a few people are having problems with their anti-virus. I really don't care much for this program.
