Just tried this, I asked for a faction change and character transfer, but I was only given one of them (I asked for the highest priced one). I had to beg a little bit, and after being told I could only get one, I begged a little more but the gm politely told me he could only give me one service. I was also told this was an exceptional situation and would not be repeated.

Got a free server transfer + faction change after a 1,5 min conversation with a GM.

After a huge wall of text saying how lonely I feel on my dead server and how much money I spent on every Blizzard game throughout the years, the GM responded: "I cannot transfer you. The only free transfers are the Free Character Migrations that happen from time to time."

I can confirm that this still works.
While I had a problem ingame with the Voidtalon portal and GM's werent able to help me, I asked if theres maybe some kind of exception they could make, they refused and said that they could give me another mount. - Without asking me which mount, he gave me the Armored Batwing. Lovely mount, but since flying is confirmed not to be ingame on newer expansions, I opened another chat 4-5 hours later and asked if they could exchange this mount probably with the mystic runesaber, since I don't really like the batwing on the ground. The GM said that its tricky to remove the batwing from my account and that he will just keep the batwing on my account and add the runesaber aswell, so I can have two mounts. I guess I got very lucky with getting the awesome GM's <3

Hello, this worked for me. I reported a bug and I asked some questions and afterwards I said that I had heard that some veterans do get some "gifts". I asked him if it's true and he said that there are some "gifts" indeed. He also said that he would check my account and that it doesn't matter if you play since 2005 but only if you're a good customer!
He asked me if I wanted a mount or a pet and I said a realm transfer. I got one!

so i tried this with the thought of "yeah this wont ever work for me".

I went to Account Management -> Not listed here and I wrote that I heard they do something nice for veteran players and if I qualify for anything like that as I been playing for 6 years, etc.

5 minutes later I'm being told no problem. Since its server maint time on a Tuesday I have a note on my account that on Saturday I will receive a free server transfer and race change at no charge.

Quoted from the support agent: "As far as a "gift" to veterans there isn't so much a qualification but more of us helping when there truly is a need for it."

My agent was so nice. Can't wait for Saturday. I would suugest everyone give this a try and see what happens. You can get mounts as well but I prefered moving a toon which is a $25 charge normally. I also didn't ask for a race change btw, they just added it. Good Luck!

Tried my luck but blizzard says no. I went the account management/other issues route that others had reported success with and asked for a race change, they admitted that they do indeed do things like this, but that i was not eligible. I have had my account subscribed nonstop for a couple of years and only had some breaks before, i've been playing since vanilla afterall. Something about my time/money investment to the game being not enough (they did not say exactly that, but said that i had indeed been in wow for quite a long time, but that it was still not enough to qualify).

I have been keeping my account subscribed with wowtokens since they were released, so i don't know if that has anything to do with this.

Not tried this but I should add that it doesn't surprise me that some people might get a free mount and others hit a brick wall.

This is just business. Some CS people are bored/eager to please/just nice and will bend over backwards to help a customer and sometimes even if they have to bend the rules. Most won't.

You don't ask you don't git. Mostly you don't git either way, but you definitely don't git if you don't ask. Social engineering is an exploit, probably the biggest one.

Just tried. Used the English EU Live Chat Support.
( If your German like i am, don't even bother trying it out with the German Support. They r a bunch of retarded *******s like every German is )

Said that i heard about this veteran thingy from a friend, long time customer bla bla bought many extra services bla bla.
Supporter told me that there is a veteran suprise thing going on but only for people that not asking for it.

Dont even bothered to hardtry on it, because i cant think about any Service i could use right now and i would feel ashamed running around in a Shop Mount while having Invincible etc.

So yea, i would try to open a Ticket with a specific Question and ask for it when they write " anything else i can do for you? "
