RaF Grind 1-80 Icecrown "new" location.

Hiya

Many will remember "Corp'rethar: The Horror Gate" in Icecrown where you could park your RaF boosted toon ontop and go to AoE heaven on the mobs below. In full herilooms and with RaF you could potentially level by that to lvl 80 pretty fast. Well since the introduction of CRZ this place as its wellknown has become pretty camped and getting sole access to the mobs isn't easy as a booster.

However, there is another place in Icecrown that is less known (until now I guess) that serves to the same end.Since I finished yesterday levelling my toon to lvl 80 using mostly this place (due to Corp'rethar being full) I thought should share it. I did a search and couldn't find any reference to the mobs atleast, and since I saw zero other boosters in CRZ (just some cloth farmers) I belive it can be worth sharing

The Mobs you are going after is the Mjordin Combatant close to Shadow Vault (view link for exact location, it's wowhead, don't worry). They are lvl 79 and 80 so they can reward a tad bit less XP then the mobs in Corp, but they have an 100% uptime. It seems they are programmed to have atleast 3 mobs up at any time so anytime you kill them all they instantly respawn. They are a part of a questchaing (and a daily) so I guess it by that reason they behave in that way.

There are several places you can park your lvl 1-80 boosted toon, but on the small cliffs just beside the path with the patrolling "hunter" is where I found it to be best. Not to close to the path as they will aggo when lowlevels but just go a step up from first plateau and your golden. There you will in range from a Guild XP banner if you put it middelish of the arena of Combatants.

Otherwise just follow the first guide. Put on full heirlooms (on boosted toon), keep banners up, and boredom level I used a lvl 85 shadowpriest to farm with just instant dots and occational mind spikes (when mana was low). And since they have a 100% uptime you will never get to rest. Since the NPCs are 79-80 you cannot be higher then lvl 85 with the toon that does the killing, otherwise the XP will dwindle, maybe a lvl 83-84 will be even better.

Im sure someone can put together a profile to do this 100% afk, but since I don't know how to bot or write profiles I have none for you I'm afraid.

A nice thing is since they are programmed to always be "up", even if there is several here doing this there will always be mobs up.

Hmm, the mobs have been this way since 3.0.8 so it isnt anything new or unheard of. If I read the wowhead comments I see it mentioning the 3 up at anytime mentioned, but nothing about boosting.

I found this place during Cata for a friend who were boosting in Corp'rethar and he needed another place as an distraction, so it has worked for a while atleast.

One odd thing is that Wintergrasp bonus doesent apply at this location, dont know why.

About the "less" xp then the mobs in Corp, its just a few % less. Think is was less then 100xp awarded per kill in the end. When I tried both palces they ended up at rougly the same mins per level due to the higher uptime at the arena.

Can someome explain how you get full heirlooms on an account thats being RAFed? If I'm using one account to farm, and parking the brand new, RAF AFK to leech off of. How is it ever possible to get that toon heirlooms?

Link the new account to your battle.net and email the heirlooms to the new toon thats being raffed. Atleast i think

Link how? When you RAF an account, it requires you to make a BNet account doesn't it? Once you do that, you could have 2 bnet accounts with same name but they wont be the same email.

Nope, you can happily RAF yourself...lol that sounds dirty.

Send a refer a friend email to yourself, it will have you make a new account, and you can send BoA items to any account on your battle.net account.

Yes exactly as snickles and shanerd says. You just send RaF invite to your regular battle.net address and attach a new wow-license to it. The as they are on the same account you can send accountbound (heirlooms in this case) to your character.

Yes, it works beautifully albeit booring at times to level a RaF boosted toon from 1-80 in this spot. Just follow the guide and 12-20 hours later your done.

Prerequisites are that the toon you are boosting is RaFed, guilded (xp bonus) and decked in heirlooms.
The toon you are boosting with (killing the Mjordin) cannot be higher then lvl 85.

If you meet those 2 conditions, its a good spot since the Corp is heavily camped by people doing the exact same thing there.

I would + rep you because this is a good spot, but A: I can't and B: since this thread was made there have been over 500 bots farming this site due to cross-realms for frostweave cloth, made me sad when I went there to boost my toons and found lvl 80s with 9k hp running around killing my mobs...

Just follow the guide, step by step. Just to clarify that you use a lvl 80-85 to boost a RaF toon from 1-80. Its not the toon levelling that does the killing.

This thread and my levelling 1-80 was done after CRZ was introduced. I very seldom bumped into bots when I did it, the only people there was a few random levellers. One exception was when I did the final 74-80 push (took 1 hour 50min) there was a cloth farmer there but since they are forced to have 3 spawns up at all time it made no big difference. I do recognize that it may differ on your CRZ and it might be bot heaven there.

I found it best to have a ranged, pref dot class do to the acutal genocide. Dot and move on, keep running and your golden.
