Simple steps to prevent being sniped on the nuetral AH

Personaly my filter is ignoring all crapy items, i just snipe Cata epic stuff by using enchantrix modul.
And auctionner can scan AH every seconds, so if you bot the action you'll loose your crapy and your real items.

That's just.. a bad tactic. The only way to be 99% sure it won't get sniped is by putting the item up for ~100g.

lol, That wouldn't work for me, my price to snipe is set higher than 100g. I can afford the gold now from all the sniping. :P

the only way to be 99% certain you wont get sniped is to /who tanaris /who winterspring /who cape of stranglethorn on both sides. if no one is in any of the zones precede. if there is someone in the zone place 1 of your traders in that zone. so you can watch the ah. if there is someone in every zone have a friend go monitor the 3rd ah while you transfer....remember booty bay has 3 AH's so check them all. if things look suspicious wait till later or kill the sniper / auctioneer.

That'll work. But that's a lot of work for most people and they don't bother to check. And besides sometimes people just hang out there at the appropriate level, so you don't know for sure. Also, to place a character at each zone is a lot of work, specially if they're a low level. If you travel by foot, you'll just get killed. If you get someone to summon you, that's different. Also, where I sit, no one can see me near the AH. And I'm the appropriate level for the zone. And I'm also PvE, so you can't kill me. Could kill auctioneer, but if I lose the target, I just re-target via macro. :P

Like someone said earlier the first thing you should do is check and see if there is another person by /whoing the 3 possible zones they could be in. While this does not stop people who use the mobile auction house for what its worth I've never seen a method of sniping from the mobile auction house nor have I ever been sniped by someone using said mobile auction house.

As far as putting your items up for 100 gold or more this does not guarantee that your item will not be sniped. If you set the proper "maximum price for arbitrage" someone could put up an item for 5000 gold and as long as the profit you would gain from buying the item is enough you could be sniped.

The most recent snipe I remember is when someone put up Hyacinth Macaw (worth about 18k) for 1000 gold hoping to dodge the snipers. But because I had set my "Maximum price for Arbitrage" was above 1000 gold Auctioneer pick it up and I snagged a good 17k profit (See "minimum profit" 17k>5k) I've included a picture to help illustrate this.


When ever I need to transfer a high price item I simply put up the item for what it is actually worth and then buy it on the opposite faction. I'd rather just take the Neutral AH cut than give someone the gold ans satisfaction of sniping my item. I realize that this approach does not work for everyone.
