Getting Valor Points quickly as a tank.

I'm a tank and always wondered if there was a way to find out if I was joining a group in progress...I guess it's been there all the time but never bother reading the pop-up window as many of us never have. Also I can confirm that you will not get deserter as long as you do not kill a boss. I have left within 15 mins of an encounter on a boss fight and have not gotten deserter either.

A dungeon which is already in progress could also mean you will play with a "wipe-group"....
