In addition I was able to kite one of the Labourers using slow and that made it possible to get the group that patrols towards the northwest of the entrance.

I can kill all 5 groups (incl the one that patrols northwest) as a ret paladin. It isn't hard.

Quick disclaimer I haven't read the rest of the thread but here is my mage strat as a Raiding Arcane Mage. Here is my build: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

So what I would do is based off the OP's strategy.

1. Arcane Barrage the Elite
2. Mirror Image (I had issues with the Mirror Images popping and aggroing other elites so I pop it afterwards)
3. Immediately Ice Block
4. When the Slaves get to you Frost Nova them
5. PoM Flamestrike
6. Cone of Cold
7. Arcane Explosion
8. Invisibility
9.???
10. PROFIT!

What I found was that if I used mirror images, and I didn't kill the big guy, whenever I used them next, they would automatically run for the last big guy, regardless of how far away he was. So they tend to aggro multiple big guys, and those shadowbolts hurt

I found it easier as frost. I have hte elemental glyph. I have the elemental out.


1. ice lance the elite so i don't get too much aggros built up
2. blink away, depending on where i currently am.
3. Make the elemental attack the elite and get aggro
4. Mirror image
5. Wait for skeles, then frost nova
6. Blizzard
7. Invis

I've been queing through the dungeon tool while solo farming this. I just ask my group if we can kill all the trash, they normally agree and before we get to last boss I leave. That way I don't stay at the skellies and hopefully up my chances of getting this thing.

I wish I was able to log on that first day :C

Also if hunters are surv just sleep the elite, but trap works too.

tried this for about 4h, 4 epics dropped.. but no battered hilt yet, going to try more tomorrow realm: Sylvanas, Alliance (EU)

If not a single one of us in this thread have gotten a hilt off the skeletons, I think it's safe to say it's no longer in their loot table.

From yesterday and today:

x4 wrist (Ghostly Wristwraps)
x3 the fist weapon
no battered hilt

With this many people farming, and 0 drops (exept for the people that said so, but couldn't provide screenshots), i'm starting to think this is nerfed too .

Did this for a bit today to try it out on my priest.

I ended up killing a total of 47 packs or 282 total skeletons.

In those 282 skeletons I probably got...

~250g (selling all grey items)
18 green items
187 frostweave cloth
1 epic (Ghostly Wristwraps)

That was it. Not bad at all to get some cloth/greens though. Wish the Hilt would drop :\

After DEing all the greens I came away with 75 infinite dust, 9 greater planars and 1 dream shard.

Tryed this as a balance druid and a Destro Warlock both SUX ASS. You got to die a couple of times if your going for all of them or just kill the first pack. I couldn't try this on my paladin cause I was already saved. Will try this as soon as I wake up tomorrow. I hope the hilt still drops cause I dmn want it on my pally, stupidly me I sold the hilt on my warlock for 10k gold and guess what it's selling for 20k gold easily ffs. Oh well past is past so I hope the hilt still drops of the skeletons. Gl to all of you btw.
