[Death Knight] Battered hilt solo farm (: <3

Well, after the small skellie thing got hotfixed i decided to see if i was able to kill some of the other stuff that drops it :P

And was able to kill the casters (a lil hard but doable) :P
And was able to kill the Elite skeleton things (Very easy)

Well ill start with the casters, as killing the two first will make it alot easier to kill the skeletons

(Atm im using my Pvp spec to grind them "0/17/54" Endless winter is pretty much a musthave for both of these mobs to fight because of "Mind freeze" gets its cost to cast removed, and your chains of ice gives frost feaver :P Allso master of ghouls is pretty much a musthave too :P)

Well now for the action,

The Casters:
For them we need alot of interuption and absorb, in the spec i use i have:
"Ghoul Stun", "Mind Freeze", "Strangulate", "Death Grip", "Anti-magic Shell" and finally "Anti-magic Zone". (i have"war stomp" too as im tauran) but done it without using that as i allways forgets all about it :P

The Pull, well i do it in 2 diffrent ways. One with "army of the dead" and one without :P
The one with "army of the dead" (will help you out with the skellies) i pop it and then "Death grip" him into the army and intterupt if he begins casting, then i get "Frost fever" and "blood plague" on him and "pestilence" it onto the lil skellies then i pop my "death and decay" to get rid of the skeletons :P skellies should be down approx the same time as ur "army of dead" is yea dead

The pull without "army of the dead", i walk to aggro the caster as he normally starts off with a cast then i "deathgrip" him to me when his casting to interupt it and get him to me :P (if he begins cast right after get the "pet stun" on him or "mind freeze")

Now the hard part:
now its you him and your pet :P (remember not to have ur "pet stun" on auto cast)
you will have to keep your "frost fever" and "blood plauge" up on him all the time to get max heals from your "deathstrike", and you need to spam "deathstrike" to keep yourself up. you can pop "icebound fortitude" if you get a lil low to get some of the melee dmg off you, but thats no way near the dmg he does with his spells. thats where you gotta use all you interupts and absorbs, "shadowbolt" will hit you for like over 10k and the channeled will allso hurt alot. So you have to keep ur health up all the time as ur gonna take a "shadowbolt" some times if ur interupts and absorbs is on cooldown.
So well you gotta interupt all his spellcasts and remember not to waste your interupts as that can kill you,
(to interupt him with "deathgrip" just strafe while his casting and pull him with it (he needs to get in air to get interupted))
after you use "pet stun" you can use "death pact" to heal yourself if needed, as resummon is 30 secs and stun is 1 minute cooldown. i wait with using my "empowered rune weapon" till my interups and absorbs is on cooldown and i dont have the runes to cast "anti-magic zone" (that can save ur ass )
so thats pretty much how to kill the casters,

In short use interupts and absorbs wisely and spam "death strike".

The Elite skeletons is alot easier,

Pretty much pull them with "chains of ice" and keep it on them till they die.
that will give them no chance to reach you, you can choose to pop "icebound fortitude" and go into "frost presence" to get some melee damage on them and then run off to kite again, i use my pet stun to get "blood plague" on them and run off again (reqs some timing).

They will kill your pet so remember to use "Death Pact" before they die.

If you cant handle to kill the casters in front of instance portal you will be able to kite them behind the instance portal and the two teants (when you do the turn to run back again, get to one of the sites and get it close to you and save up two frost runes. when it gets really close use "chains of ice" and run in a circle around it, use one more "chains of ice" while doing the circle)

if your "army of dead" gets off cooldown you will have the time to get far enogth away and slow it and get ur lil army up , that gives me around 100k dmg on it while they are up.

And yea they are elites so yes they drop the hilt and other epics,


its not really fast to kill them, but should be worth it as the drop rates is higher now, and it doesnt req that much gear. (i have 4400 gear score, witch i got the old times i did naxx and some from heroic instances)

lets say drop is 0.2%
5 elites in 15min -> 20mobs/h -> 4% drop
lets say youre 4times faster in a pug (-heal) -> 80mobs/h -> 16%drop / 5 -> 3,8% drop for yourself, doable once a day(id)
