Well, I searched this, and didn't find anything, if there is a guide like this, Shame on me for being a moderator! /knock
Anyways, this guide is what to do first when you just hit 80. The main priority at this point is what: GEAR. There are many ways of getting gear and stats, but when you first get there, you don't know which one to pick!
Player vs Player -
Wintergraps
Alright, the first topic I'd like to begin with is Player vs. Player, or other known as PvP, this as of right now, is a quick and easy way of getting some epics/blues. Wintergrasp battles are amazing for getting honor at 80 right now and the honor points for the dailies are going down by the day, so take advantage of it now! If you haven't done wintergrasp, let me explain the battle. The team that has the fortress defends it with catapults and turrents, while the other team who are attacking try to capture the base. When you first arrive (By portal or flying) I would first ask in General chat to get into the raid that someone else has already started, if there isn't one then start one. Grab your dailies and start killing the oppisite faction. The dailies and the killing gives you a ton of honor, and wintergrasp starts every 3 hours. The new Season 5 armor sell for a quiet of bit of honor, so stack up as much as you can before going to go buy them at your main city. The new gear for wintergrasp is coming up with the next upcoming patch, so save your marks!

Arena
The other PvP form is Arena (Also BGs, but not going to get into them at this moment). Arenas can be hard for beginners, especially going up against a team that has more skill in it and better gear already. First, find the arena master (located in Dalaran sewers) and start up a arena team with your best pals that are actually GOOD at PvP, because you'll need it. To begin with this, you must practice a LOT before you get decent. The gear is so much more worth then the Wintergrasp gear, and requires you to have a good rating (Winning and losing ratio). Well anyways here is the gear rewards: (Yes, I stole this from somewhere and the link is below it.)

Heroics and Dungeons
Heroics and Dungeons is kind of Self explanatory, but for those who don't know ANYTHING about these, here comes the guide! Anyways, In my honest opinion, this is the best way to start out at level 80 to get some decent gear. Purples and Blues drop of the bosses, along with tokens (Emblem of Heroism) + dailies that you can use to get some of the tier 7 gear with by going to dalaran and finding the vendor who sells it. Heroics can be started by finding the daily heroic in dalaran at the Violet Hold, then searching in the LFG addon. Heroic difficulty can be selected at your portrait if your group leader. After you do tons of heroics and almost filled with level 80 blues/purps you can move on to the next thing..
Some examples of gear that drops:
Gloves of Glistening Runes
Greed
Royal Crest of Lordaeron
Plague-Infected Bracers
Limb Regeneration Bracers
Overlook Handguards
Leggings of the Winged Serpent
Gored Hide Legguards
Horn-Tipped Gauntlets
Sash of Blood Removal
Raiding
Raiding, you can begin raiding immidiatly if your in a good guild who raids, or wait after you do heroics. Easy Raids such as Vault of Archavon and Obsidian Sanctum can be completed easily and probably a guy full of greens could raid this. Vault of Archavon is a raid inside the Fortress of Wintergrasp, and you MUST have control over wintergrasp to be able to raid this. It is a easy one boss raid. Obsidian Sanctum is located under Dragon Temple in Dragonsblight. This Raid consists of a Dragon queen surronded by 3 other nether dragons. Each Nether dragon left alive increase the difficulty of the Queen dragon, and with all 3 dragons out you get a achievement and a rare drop of a epic flyer if you kill the queen dragon. This Raid is a little more Difficult then VoA, but still veryly easy if you kill all 3 dragons. There is a more indept stradegy but your raid will most likely go into that when you get there. The last 2 Raids that cause trouble for guilds and are very long are Naxxaramas and Malygos (Eye of Eternity). There is some debate on which are harder, but both can be easy with a good group. These raids you will most likely not be able to get in without at least some good gear. Naxxramas can take up to 3 days to finish the entire run (Not all run together, just seperated into different parts and times.) At the end you kill Kel'thuzad, who drops VERY good gear, along with tier 7.5 tokens.
Here is the tokened gear:
Rogue: Valorous Bonescythe Battlegear
Hunter: Valorous Cryptstalker Battlegear
Warrior: Valorous Dreadnaught Plate
Druid: Valorous Dreamwalker Garb
Shaman: Valorous Earthshatter Garb
Mage: Valorous Frostfire Garb
Priest: Valorous Garb of Faith
Warlock: Valorous Plagueheart Garb
Paladin: Valorous Redemption Plate
Death Knight: Valorous Scourgeborne Plate
(Please note, there are more on this list such as DPS and Tanking gear, but don't feel like adding all the variations.)

Tips of my Opinion
1. Socket ALL your armor that you can.
2. Clothies GET stamina + intelligence + spellpower, Plates GET Strength + Attack power, AND Leather get Agility (Dps only) along with hit, haste, crit, mp5, defence rating and spirit sockets.
3. IF your a warlock, GET SPIRIT, fel armor now increases your Spell power by how much spirit you have.
4. Horn of winter is your best friend as a Death Knight!
5. (By Skaya133): Retri paladins have a good use of haste. More hits = more Seal of Blood/the Martyr hits, which deals alot of damage(My friend critted 11k with seal of the martyr).
Spirit/Mp5 can be important as a healer, or You'll get out of mana at the start of a boss fight, instant wipe!.
Tanks(except druid) needs defence rating to be crit immune, and stam can be usefull as tank unless you want to be 1-shotted.
If you have any tips of your own, then tell me what you think we need to add. AND, if you noticed my related threads part, if you have anything to do with that subject and it's a guide, please tell me and I will post it here. I also was very tired writing this guide, so give me some slack, took me awhile.
wall of text crits you...
