Yes, yes I am :P I guess they do sound...well, exactly the same!
Why would you be scared of the Titans (in WoW)? They are the definition of Good. Holy. Pure. Other than that one..you know the one I mean..

    The Blood Elves
    Introduction and History

Ten thousand years ago, during the reign of the night elf Queen Azshara, there was an elite magic-using sect known as the Highborne, who dabbled in magics that many other elves considered heretical by drawing upon the power of the Well of Eternity. Several centuries after the Sundering, which destroyed the Well of Eternity, the Highborne left Kalimdor and settled on the Eastern Continent, founding the kingdom of Quel'Thalas. They became known as the high elves. During this time, they created the Sunwell, and switched to a diurnal waking cycle, instead of the nocturnal cycle they had kept when they were night elves. Their purple skin eventually faded to a pale peach color, like that of the humans and dwarves.

The high elves assisted the Alliance of Lordaeron in the Second War against the Horde and in the war against the Burning Legion. During the Third War, however, Prince Arthas led his army of the undead against them, ravaging Quel'Thalas and corrupting the Sunwell. Most of what was left of Quel'thalas was burned down by the high elves, in an effort to give the scourge a psychological victory and leaving the few high elves left who were making their last stand on Sunstrider Isle. Despite their efforts, almost 90% of the high elven population were eradicated during this conflict. In remembrance of their fallen brethren, most of them renamed themselves the blood elves, or Sin'Dorei, and swore to avenge their fallen race.

Cut off from their source of power once again, the elves went into magic withdrawal. Desperate for aid following the Third War, the blood elves accepted help from the naga. This was seen as treachery by the Alliance and they were sentenced to death. Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider led his followers to freedom, to the extra dimensional wastes of Outland, the remnants of Draenor, to pledge allegiance to Illidan who promised to grant them a new source of magic by siphoning the chaotic energies of demons.

But not all blood elves currently reside in Outland with Illidan, some have remained in Azeroth. Flushed with their new found power born from their ability to tap into demonic energies from the Twisting Nether, the blood elves have managed to retake their beloved land of Quel'Thalas. Silvermoon has been rebuilt and the resident blood elves there plot to return to Outland, where they can reunite with Kael'thas and achieve the golden destiny he promised them.

    Re: Ask Lore Questions Here

I had 16 rep and was not a contrib. Several scam and expolit posts brought me up quickly, but this forum...it is amazing. Feedback is more important to me than rep, and being able to further others knowedge of Warcraft Lore is as well. But hey..rep is a nice thing to have, if nothing else than the little notes you get :P

    Random Lore Post-

    Great Dark
The Great Dark, or Great Dark Beyond, is the empty void between worlds. It is described as the first of everything when there was nothing, and is part of the primary material dimension, as opposed to the Twisting Nether. Though the twisting nether is part of the Great Dark. It is essentially the name given to outer space in the Warcraft universe.

To date, four planets have been specified in the Warcraft universe: Argus, Azeroth, Xoroth and Outland (formerly Draenor). However, countless other planets exist in the Great Dark Beyond.

The Titans probably travel through the Great Dark, as opposed to the Twisting Nether (which might explain their shock at the emergence of the Demons).

    Great Dark vs. Twisting Nether
The Twisting Nether is the astral plane between worlds. It is a chaotic and magical environment that overlaps with the Great Dark Beyond, yet is normally imperceptible to mortals.

The roles of both have not been clearly confirmed yet. For example, in the novel Last Guardian, Medivh explained to Khadgar that demons were denizens and rulers of the Great Dark, and referred to the Dark Portal as a gateway that bridges two nodes residing in Twisting Nether.

Indeed, it is chillingly possible that there are forces in the Great Dark to rival the Burning Legion yet unknown to the powers that vie for Azeroth.

Note that the Warcraft Encyclopedia now confirms that the Great Dark includes the Twisting Nether, rather then vice-versa.

    1 and 2-
    Nage
    Evolution

10,000 years ago, during the reign of Night Elf Queen Azshara, there was an elite magic-using sect known as the Highborne, who dabbled in magics that many other elves considered heretical by drawing upon the power of the Well of Eternity. When the Well of Eternity imploded at the conclusion of the War of the Ancients, sundering the world, the Highborne inhabitants of Zin-Azshari were trapped in the blast. At the last second, Azshara struck a deal with the Old Gods for her survival. Azshara and her followers were dragged down beneath the raging sea... but they did not die. Twisted by the Old Gods, invigorated by the Well's energies, they took on new shapes, new powers and became the hateful, serpentine Naga.

Naga only marginally resemble the noble race they once were. Their proud Kaldorei visages are warped and twisted. The naga are part night elf, part serpent, and some have evolved bizzare oceanic mutations. In this way, the race has developed an array of genetic variations and defenses, such as ink jets, tentacles, razor fins, venomous fangs, hardened barnacle carapaces and spined fists. The Sea Witches even sport venomous serpents instead of hair.

Naga serve their dark empress Azshara without question. Naga society is matriarchal, and the sexes have diverged radically, both mentally and physically, in the millennia of their estrangement. Women are dominant and often train as spellcasters, while men form the brute labor force and serve their women as physical warriors.

Naga are avaricious and sadistic, and their millennia of aquatic banishment has only intensified their evil, power-hungry nature.

When the Naga awakened, they set about building a new life for themselves on the ocean depths, within the abyssal sea trench beneath the swirling waters of the Maelstrom they built their new city, Nazjatar. Azshara herself expanded with hate and rage, becoming a massive monstrosity, reflecting the wickedness and malice that had always hidden within her core.

There in the depths of the ocean for ten thousand years the Naga plotted their revenge against the Night Elves. Most Naga are still content to wait. However, a small group led by the Naga Sea Witch, Lady Vashj, answered a summons from Illidan Stormrage to aid him in his quest to destroy the Frozen Throne. They made new allies in the form of their Highborne kin the Blood Elves as well as enemies of the Night Elves and the Alliance. They aided Illidan in the recovery of the Eye of Sargeras, and fought alongside the Blood Elves to take Outland as well as at the Icecrown Glacier against the Scourge. After suffering defeat at the hands of Arthas this group retreated back to Outland with Illidan.

More recently Naga have begun to reappear around the coasts of the world, creating settlements on land, most noticeably in the ruins of their old cities in Azshara. It also seems that some have made a fort in Northrend, in the Riplash Ruins. Whether these forces have emerged on Azshara's orders or are another sect entirely is unknown.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Darkshore
    History
Darkshore has been the home of night elves for thousands of years. It was the location of such wondrous cities such as Mathystra, Bashal'Aran, and Ameth'Aran. Although these cities were built when the elves were at the height of their arcane power, they eventually fell prey to the corruption of the Highborne. Betrayed by their own noble caste, the night elves were forced to either join up, flee, or be killed. The cities of what would eventually become Darkshore were abandoned and fell into ruin.
