question regarding how the transmog system works
Hi guys, got a question for ya regarding legion's account-wide transmog system. I'm as capable of spit-balling theoretical answers as much as anyone else, so if anyone actually knows the definitive answer, I'd really appreciate it.
A character named Bob has some cool xmog items in his bank on his original account -- account A. The owner of bob purchases a new account with his same last name, but a different(new) battlenet -- account B. The owner sends Bob to account B, where he unlocks/enables his transmogs there as well. After the 3 day cooldown, the owner brings Bob back to account A - his original account. Are the transmogs still available on account B indefinitely, despite bob being removed? I know his personal achievements, titles, mounts etc will travel with him, but do transmogs stay on the account no matter what? I've heard the term "shell account" thrown around in reference to this, but I'm still not entirely sure. thank you

I haven't actually transferred between accounts since account-wide transmog, but yes. Once it is added to the account, it stays. It happens with mounts, titles, achievements, so there's no reason it wouldn't happen with transmog.

does it though? I was under the impression that when you send a toon to an entirely new Battle.net account (with the same last name), that they only brought over the acheivments and titles that they specifically earned on that toon alone -- no longer connected to the original Bnet. I must be wrong on that though. I also want to emphasize that it will be added to the new account only temporarily, and then removed back to the original

IF it gets added to your transmog collection, transferring the character back won't cause you to lose what you gained on account B. I just don't know if transmog gets added.

ohhh ok gotcha, that's what i was hoping. Yea i highly doubt that the entirety of account A's accumulated transmog would be brought to account B through Bob alone -- it would only add Bob's personal items to the collection, which then would stay even after he leaves. Thank you for the quick response!!

Only items in the character's inventory will be transmoggable on the new account. Anything account-wide like mounts, achievements, other transmog, etc. won't be carried over unless the character specifically earned them like you said. Anything that was already in the transmog collection on the first account will stay on that account. That's where a "shell" account comes from. I've done loads of account transfers so I'm pretty familiar with the process.
