Well, it's been almost two months since I got caught in the infamous PQR/PQI Banwave. Since then, I stopped playing and never looked back. So I felt the need to share my story of how I had gotten into the game in the first place. I hope others users of Ownedcore may also share their stories as well.
It was early 2008. My brother had given me permission to mess around with his account and it was kind of cool. Granted, I didn't play past level 5, but communicating with others while playing was very new to me at the time. Still, as I said, I didn't really play past level 5. I guess I didn't really care to either lol.
In 2010, I had finally caved in and got my own account with a Battle Chest (It only had Vanilla and BC at the time). When I started to play, I was amazed at how much there was to see in the game. Unfortunately, I was so horrible, I couldn't level past 10. However, after taking nearly a 2 month hiatus from game, that changed as I started playing with my brother and cousin (questing and instances) and that was pretty cool. In 2011, I finally was able to upgrade all the way to Cata and do some heroic instances with my cousin.
After a 6 month break, I started playing again and got to do LFR and Instances with my cousin and brother. Unfortunately, they both quit in late 2012. However, my neighbor was still playing and I met him that year, so I hopped on his server and leveled a toon there to 90.
In late 2012, I had also found PQR and Honorbuddy. I had actually purchased an Honorbuddy key back in 2011 out of curiosity and it was okay for AFK questing. When I had found out that Honorbuddy worked exceptionally well like PQR and I could use it to level my toons, I had started using Honorbuddy on a regular basis for leveling and sometimes raiding/PVP.
In the beginning of 2013, I had my level 90 and was ready to do some raiding and PVP with my neighbor and the rest of our guild. We had some pretty good fun dueling outside of Goldshire, messing around in Orgrimmar, trolling Trade Chat, and so on. I had confessed to my neighbor that I had been using automated programs in mid 2013 after a few mishaps in Arenas because I had felt bad that I cost him his rating. He actually didn't give two shits and his reason being that "PVP is really really going down the shitter. Maybe if Blizz actually fixed their shit, I'd actually be disappointed in you".
As the rest of my time went on, I just continued playing the way I've been playing for the sake of finding something to do at night. That is, until January 23rd, 2014 when mine as well as many other WoW players had their accounts terminated. I had started getting frustrated with the way the game had been going in late 2013 (see my "Why I'm leaving WoW behind (A Rant)" thread as I will not repeat my opinion here), so I was kind of happy the banhammer had hit me because I was ready to stop after my sub expired.
And that's my whole story. Please do not hesitate to share yours.
