First of all, I don't know if I'm more confused or pissed off to no end.
A few days ago, a friend of mine got an email from Blizzard saying his account was closed for Abuse of the Economy: Buying/Selling gold. I got on my account only to find that it was banned, for the same exact reason... Now the issue here is that he and I have never bought nor sold gold, but when we went to appeal their decisions, they "confirmed" their initial findings and the accounts remained banned.
The next day, I got another email, an EU account of mine was banned for buying and selling gold. And it wasn't just my main license, it was 2 out of 4 licenses on the battle.net account. Again, never bought nor sold gold before.
Today, I started logging on to all my accounts that I've bought over the last several months to find that they are all banned as well! That equals five more battle.net accounts that I lost, bringing the total up to 7 accounts gone. One account had 5 freaking licenses banned all at once.... But again, to reiterate, I never bought nor sold gold on any of these accounts since I have owned them. I have owned all these accounts for at least 3 months and didn't even play on them very much. If the previous owners did buy and sell gold, why did they all get banned on the same day? Also, what are the odds that every single account I bought was heavy into buying and selling gold?
The chance that this type of abuse happened on ANY of these accounts is very very low because they are high end accounts, where people understand their value and wouldn't screw it up like that. Let me give you an idea of what I lost in the past 3 days...
My account: 4 90s, 17 toons level 85-89. 14k achievement points, 40ish feats of strength, 450 pets, 150 mounts. Tons of unobtainable vanity items/mounts
Scarab Lord account: 5 licenses banned. Was also a 2 time gladiator...
Shaman with full Tier 3 (obtained back in the day, not from BMAH) and 20+ unobtainable pieces of gear/weapons from Naxx. The account he was on was created less than two weeks ago and I transferred him from the original account to this new one, still banned for selling gold.
Account with 17.2k achievement points, 61 FoS, 233 mounts, Hand of A'dal, Champion of the Naaru, multiple realm firsts, Mim's head, all WoW Collector's Editions, etc....
And I also lost some other accounts that weren't too amazing, but were still worth a pretty penny. So what I'm wanting to know is if this is happening to other people as well? Myself, my friend and another person have all experienced the same problem this week and its been occurring for no apparent reason. Another thing I want to know, given these crazy circumstances, would I have any chance of getting the licenses opened on these accounts? I already appealed on my personal account and the EU account, and of course it didn't work...so my hopes are low.
Ps. I also had an account banned yesterday for harassment. Haven't been on that account for about 4 months... nor do I consider my self harassing lol
