[Cataclysm Beta] Press invites going out!

No offense, but I also have sources inside the WoW community. Very trusted ones which has gotten me quite a bit of information for things. Beta will be going live sometime in April according to TracLine flow. April 16th will be the Paladin review shown, April 17th is when Press Registration is over. April 17th is the start of Phase 1 testing.

We already know they are ramping up for testing. This is known for todays scheduled maint as they are prepping the servers for Cataclysm already. They will be setting up realm tonight (from what I am told.)

I don't care who you are or how much pull you think you have, or what "sources" you think you have, there is no beta right now. No amount of "you just don't have access to the real info" - or even faked screenshots which will eventually appear - will change that.

I realize that in a sea of liars and people with claimed "sources", my words hold no more weight than anyone else's. I'm not going try to prove it, I'm not going to ask you to "trust me", you're free to believe what you want, but try not to fall for it.

Well im guessing with all this info blizzard is releasing they are defiantly ramping up for beta, the only question being when and how long it will last.

Oh it was, no worries, it just got moved up on friday I believe to ELITE status according to this thread. But so far, the information given seems incorrect, as it suggested beta start on 16th or 17th and more.

• Suggested Press invites arent out except for Skuddle that got one on page 3(?) in this very thread.

• We can pretty much confirm beta did not start 16th or 17th as the thread suggests.

So something isn't right here, either it's a misunderstanding, keeping things very tightly wrapped up in the elite section or just unproved rumours.

Yet again, don't take me wrong, I would love a beta, just telling things from my point of view.

The beta phase for media has started I have come to believe, but the one for regular players has not. Im sure when that phase comes, leechers, donors, contrib, etc will receive one and share. So please, sit back and relax until further notice.

Well, they never explained where the 14 GB of extra size origined from. (the current client is 16 GB in size, the rumored beta client 29,7 GB)
And it's likely for them to remove the old world from the client (it's garbage after all), even more likely because the supposedly released client is a full download.

Unless you've seen it, it's hard to believe that cataclysm will double the size of the client. (i'd say a 50% increase would be OK, considering the increased texture resolution, but more than that?)

It could also be a multi language client. (but I can't imagine them combining EU and US client, so it would be the EU client)

No it hasn't started yet. When it starts you'll know considering it will be posted on every other news/fansite out there. We contacted Blizzard on Friday (since we were one of the sites who sent in their information) and they mentioned nothing started yet.

Were it an Alpha with an NDA? Maybe you won't hear about it. A beta? You'll know. And I don't mean like this - a few people claiming they might have received an e-mail, with one or two people lying, claiming they're "downloading the client" or whatever other nonsense they're spewing.

There is no beta right now. You all know that if there was, you'd have more to go on then one guy saying "I'm in it, but I'm only proving it to people who aren't you". Don't fall for the faked screenshots when they come in either. I know you all want a beta and there is sure to be one. There just isn't one yet.

Of course not, but when not even media/press gets information about their press invites, we can be pretty darn sure it hasn't started.
