Getting higher... an exploration game

Nope you can't fly at GM Island. I can't speak about what the island was like before I actually played WoW. But since the first time I ever reached the island, up until a couple of days ago when I most recently returned, I was unable to even mount there, little known fly.

I don't know for sure, but I think they may have put one of those invisible nets around GM Island that the outer area of Deepholm is now encased in. Where if you try to mount it will cast and you'll be mounted for a millisecond, and then get auto dismounted. So maybe a Druid could fly there, like in Deepholm. I made the trip on a different class this time though so I'd have to shoot out there on my Druid to be sure, which I'll probably do eventually.

As for the method. Well obviously anything that's getting you to GM Island has the ability to either fly, walk on air, or some other form of bugging elevation. However I just climbed the mountain the old-fashioned way. I could have flown there, and in fact have the ability to fly in any instance using various means. But that would defeat the purpose of the entire thread so I don't heh.

To be clear, this game is about height, not skill. I want a list of the highest places possible with normal game means.
This means if you enter the map and you're already at the highest spot (like Assault on Zan'Vess, for example), plop down your Tiger and you win! Heh.
This also means that non-public methods are just fine. I used a few non-public methods to hit some spots here. Impress us with your mysterious height!
And yes, GM Island counts. I also listed Silvermoon City separate from Eversong Woods.

During 4.3 flying was very possible. There was loads of videos made, I think Reznik has one that's still up.

Reznik's 4.3 video was using a fly w/o a mount glitch.

From what I've heard it was soon after the broom method was released that they added the no-fly areas around some parts of the areas outside of the end game walls, no idea if it was then when they changed GM Island. Really no flight at the island changes very little in my opinion. Everything you want to see is on the ground lol. Though it looks like with some offline mode, or possibly a Druid, you can still fly for whatever purpose you would need it for.
