[Revolutioniary] The Otherworld Glitch

Bringing attention back to this thread, quite an interesting one it happens to be.

I understand the concept of this "otherworld" if you want to call it that, but in practice I totally fail at trying to replicate it - what is it that i'm doing wrong?

I mount up when I enter Borean Tundra from Org, and hit the DC macro, logging in & out (I do this many times in a row) but I never manage to get my character glitched where 1 world is super-imposed on top of another.

Is it just a case of "bad luck", or can you get reliable results by doing it the "right way"?
Can anyone shed some light on it for me and explain in a more detailed way.

GM Island is at this moment impossible without hacks, although a few particular members (including myself, Nachtsuchen) have been putting research into how we could possibly get there. We've actually gotten VERY close, although not quite close enogough. The only hint I will give is that GM Island's location is at (-11, 7), for anyone who has coordinates. Have fun with that. =D

Also, like I said, I'm waiting to find a secure website where members and invite-only people can view exclusive videos on Otherworld, the latest scoops on what it can lead to, and how to replicate it. If anyone knows of one, preferably one that won't show up on Google, please let me know. Honors would be mentioned.

Also, I've been plumb-dumb out of video ideas for YouTube. Should anyone have any awesome suggestions, throw 'em at me at OotHEWoW. I appriciate it.

ONE MORE THING: I am finally going to do an update-sweep on all of our websites. This means YouTube, Blogspot, Guild Portal, FreeWebs, and even the SECRET SITE. Make sure to stop on by later today (06/18/09) to see everything.

I've just received news that the only lead we had on obtaining GM Island has been nerfed. To my understanding, the newest patch has nerfed Rocket Boots Extreme Lite from 300% speed to 50% speed. Not only does this hinder our one chance, but now a whole sleugh of other glitches by that only means have been closed. So now we're back to square 1, as far as reaching Game Master Island is concerned...

I take the boat from Menethil Harbor to Valgarde. I mount up (on my flying mount) and go to Skorn and I dc a couple of time and im not in the otherworld.
What am i doing wrong?

Sometimes it will not work. It's like lighting a match. Sometimes you get it on the first flick, sometimes you have to use more than one match.

Shame to hear about GM Island currently being out of the question

I've been using this glitch for a couple of days now, and I must admit I am impressed by it. Getting to visit Hyjal again made the hours I spent working out how well worth it.

Kudos to Nachtsuchen for discovering this.

I was experimenting with this method, and decided to try it on Stockades portal. And now, every time I log in to my character, it gets stuck on the stocks loading screen. Any ideas? UPDATE!: Just tried the macro while hearthing from Graveyard near SM to Shattrath. I instantly crashed and logged back on only to find that my character is stuck in the server. I try to get on the character and it says ,"A player with that name already exists". So, I logged on my other warlock, and what do ya' know... BOTH characters are online! They are both on the same account too! Same server and everything (Including faction). I will most likely be banned for this (On WoW), but I think there might be something major you can do with this. Maybe free name change, or even make a copy of one character, and then send one to another server/account.

Okay, just a few things that I want to say:

First off, I appologize for any confusion about GM Island and Rocket Boots. Rocket Boots have NOT been nerfed; they still go at the same speed. This means we can still try and find a way to Game Master Island.

Secondly, apparently Blizzard's implemented a new failsafe for Otherworld. As reported by a good portion of the otherworld-exploration community, you crash upon touching water. At first, I thought this was a problem of my own, but I came to realize everyone is sharing this issue. In order to prevent the crashes, you MUST NOT touch water EXCEPT with the use of Water Walking. I only assume that the system purposely bugs out whenever you make contact with water in Otherworld because you're supposed to be falling, but float and move instead. Crafty Blizzard set up something to deter the use of Otherworld, but it's ONLY a slight drawback. If you're stuck in Otherworld, simply wait about 5 or so minutes, clear your Cache (this may help), and wait for your character to phase out.

And by the way, as I stated before, the advantage is not being able to 'fly around in a different texture', it's using it as a sort of highway to get to where you weren't able to previously. I.e: Going through a mountain to get to the other side. One interesting thing is to access mirriors of completely unreachable zones, such as Hyjal. Although it is not the REAL Hyjal, anything that would be geometrically altered in the real Hyjal would be reflected in Otherworld Hyjal. So yes, you're still exploring Hyjal in SOME sense.
