Appearently, they are here to stay =) While it wasn't intended to be tamed, the dev team has agreed to let it stay this way.

Beasts cannot be banished, hibernated though.

After reading all of this, I still don't really know if this pet is superior to other or not

I know the original intent of the post was its appearance, but is it stronger than other wolves?

What I'd like to know:
70 wolf's dps compared with this one's
If is pet is really immune to all CC
What bestial wrath looks like on this pet

Any info is appreciated
