Just tried it. I tried to keep the blue mount from the event (Flying Broom) which is an event only mount. I had a few event containers with that mount + some containers with some white crap.

All containers disappeared
In addition, few days ago was a smaller wow patch after maintainance... (didnt know if this counts), but the loot didnt change.

FYI, still works as of 6.0.2. Just popped a vial of sands recipe from jars that have been sitting in my bank and checked each major patch since MoP.

I posed this comment in another thread speaking about containers and loot during patches:

For confirmation: I did this with 5.4 -> 6.0 patch. I was JPS capped and when doing my weekly VP capping via Hscens, i would get the Cache Boxes containing usually gold/boe/and jps, and take out all the contents except the JPS that i couldnt hold any more of. I had around 50 of these containing ONLY 60jps in them in my bank. Curious if they would turn to straight gold profit, i opened them on 6.0 patch day and they had boes and gold in them again. Effectively duping their contents.

Some things it does, some things it doesnt. They probably patched this one though, since it's been around for a while!

Idgaf if you think it doesn't or otherwise, I'm reporting that it in fact did since I have been checking my jars every major patch and this most recent patch to WoD, a vial of sands recipe did come from one.
