This sounds very interesting. Going to have to test it when one of my accounts come back from that 72 hour. Got 3 accounts down over the Heroic Cache bags and the Sunreaver bounty. Need to keep my last one alive till others are up. Anyway. Do you think that blizzard "tracks" your activitie if you have been previously banned for game exploitation?

Well as far as the canopic jars I stored 20 of them and still struck out, but of course the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence so who knows looks like others had sucess with the other bags.

I think this got me a 72 hour ban as a fyi. It's the only exploit I've done other than the Deepholm disable CRZ. I had 40 bags in my bank that I was saving till after the patch.

It worked beautifully though! Got a ton of extra gold, pets and items.

Actually there were a lot of false positives in this mass suspension. A guildie of mine did "The Longest Day" achievement and didn't loot any of the pet bags until the very end. Because he looted like 10 bags all right next to each other, I think it flagged his account with a 72hr ban due to the widely known Pet bag exploit using that macro now. He challenged it and it was reversed.

Just mention to a GM how you had been storing the bags for a long time and you were falsely suspended, probably due to the other known exploit. You don't need to mention WHY you are storing the bags, other than you think it looks cool lol. Mention that if he checks the logs that the bags that you have have been there for a long time. I am sure a GM will check and reverse the decision. GL!

man this sucks!!! If anything I was hoping another person would specifically use the Canopic Jars and report back... and of all the people, you got 20 and it still didn't proc...

If it's any consolation, I had already opened nearly 30 canpic jars myself and only got the idea to start storing after the first 19 lol... Still nothing til server reset then re-checked those 11 and got it. I am glad to see other people reporting back positively, but in your case it could just be bad RNG. Or, it could be that blizz fixed canopic jars... imo, I'd just still hold on to those for now. So sad to hear though...

Is that an actual container or is it like what they did to the LFR loot bags where they just randomly generate an item and disappear on use, not actually being looted? This will only work with traditional bags that can be looted

It's a traditional bag that can be looted 100%. I actually fully looted 2 since 5.3(both had pvp items for enemy faction and different type of armor that I can use) and only then realized the full potential. Since I'm on a dead realm it is easy to snatch them cheap from BMAH. I'm currently checking each one I buy and if the item inside isn't a very rare mount I just store them in my bank while waiting for 5.4 to reset the contents

I bought 4 containers prior to the patch in anticipation for this, I had a Sewer Rat and three Tyrannical pieces (a strength crit/haste cloak, a plate intel mastery/haste bracer, and an alliance mail bracers or something that I don't really recall).

When I just checked right now, only ONE of them changed for some reason. The crit/haste cloak turned into an alliance caster ring. :/

So I guess it kinda works?

Good question on stuff in mailbox... I would think it would be all containers but never left something in the mail. But ya you need to inspect the container but not loot it.

EDIT:

I collected close to 100 bags from world bosses and from LFR -- Lots of items reset... mostly gold epic gear drops that I just vendored sadly, but did get a couple rare pets... nothing too exciting. The LFR bag I was mostly hoping to get the primal eggs so I don't have to farm out there... got none lol.

Anyone else try the canopic jars again with some luck? I know it's RNG but it's the reason I originally made this post. Surprised to login and see it was bumped actually
