Not never. Remember the Worgen pet! May they all rest in peace. :'(. Near identical in mechanic if I am reading this strat right. Taming a pet at the right moment a debuff/buff/model change occurs.

Of course, that deletion was due to the upcoming Worgen race addition more than anything.

Is this pet a new one for Cata only or pre Cata too?

It's Cataclysm quest, but because it's low level quest, you can tame the pet even without Cataclysm activated on your account.

If you call fire pet (or any pet with bugged looks) in arena - it'll loose it's unique looks forever.

Couple of my guildies logged in today and found their raptors turned to a normal raptor, but mine is still a pool of fire. Mine was the only one out of the bunch that was stabled though. Just a headsup for you folks.

Althought it is 4am pst(my time/server time) no one seemed to notice the fire as my pet except someone who stood in it, have my suspicions they cant see it =/

It was pretty visible when I tamed it 3 days ago - at least from the PoV of my priest, which was on the quest.

Pretty amazing going to give this a try when servers come back up +rep if I get it to work

I tried it now and it didnt work for me.
The raptors bug out and there is no explosions.
One time i managed to get him to explode but even then he was just a normal raptor.

You need to make sure you time it right.

Make sure you download a castbar addon that shows how man seconds are left till the skill is complete. And use the quest item when tame is on (2secs left i belive, check OP)
