I just tried this and it didn't work. I'm pretty sure this is fake, but one thing tells me its not.

It really is 4:29AM right now in London, England. This guy's post is an hour ago, so his time is right. Maybe he's not a troll?

Tried it, but for me it isn't working either, I just get the timer. Maybe it had to do something with lagg or something because my timer is showing immediately up when I hit the button.

Tried for 15 mins, didn't work at all.

Doing this:

1. Go to escape menu
2. Hit logout
3. Fly up asap

I did find something that could be potentially useful after trying this though.

1. Mount on a flyer
2. Go to escape menu
3. Hit logout
4. Cast levitate immediately

This will leave you in midair, but levitate willn't have been cast. I'm not sure what this could be used for, but I figured I'd mention it.

This seems to also work with nearly anything, be it instant cast or casted, tried with mounts, smite, levitate.

Made a macro which has the same effect:
/logout
/cast Levitate

If this really doesn't work (Cant test atm) just use Alt + F4 or
Escape -> Exit game -> Exit now
and you get instant logout ^^

If you DC, your toon will still stand there for 20 seconds before it disappears (read: logs out).

Anyway, i don't really see the usefulness of this thread.

After some tries i got disconnected when hitting log out und immediately flying upwards. point is - its a disconnect, not a complete logout. so, more ore less an alt+f4 without having to restart wow entirely.
Allthough it took me more than 20 secs to get disconnected...
