Change your guild tag to <Champion of> 4.0.3

This looks like a new bug in the latest patch. I discovered it by accident when I logged in with torrents running.



UPDATE:

By using the dc command:
/console startproject

and then immediately reconnecting to the same toon has given me the every time so far.

Kudos to HigherThanGod for finding a sure fire way to get it

Note that this is server side but can only be seen by guildies. I hope you guys find this at least amusing if not useful for some tomfoolery.

We 'lag' our selves when logging in to our character and then when we enter the world we're champions of our guild?

I think you probably are the only one who is confused because the thread just went up. Give it a few minutes and some more people will be confused.

But yup, that's it. At least that is how it happened the first time, and then I tried to recreate it afterwards and it worked. And by lag I mean try to use up as much bandwidth as you can, with torrents, youtube, etc., and then Enter from the character selection screen.

I wish I could be clearer but that is all I understand about it.

Ask your guild leader to change your guild rank to "Retard" then check your guild tag.

How have I presented myself as a retard? I found something, evidently something not intended, that I thought might be appreciated here. I can only explain it to the extent that I can understand it. There's no need to be rude.

I can confirm the Champion of *Guild* part, not sure how it happened although I had a DC and then when I logged back in my Guild name was then changed to that.
Also my Guild Rank is not Champion so it has nothing to do with my actual Guild rank.

It is not client side as my other Guildies have confirmed it showing as Champion of Heretics.

I couldn't get this working no matter how much I lagged, even if I clogged the whole upload and download lines with packet bombarding, it wouldn't work.

Ive seen this happen in my guild aswell. I couldnt do it myself.
I think we need some more info on this before we can reproduce those results.

EU, and yes I downloaded part of the cata files via the method in this thread: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...pre-order.html seems very likely that has to do with it.

worked for me yesterday.
] i dont have cata pre d/l
] was playing around in atlasloot and got d/c everytime i hovered over some specific item (dont know which, it was in christmas events for me)
]d/c to login screen 2-3 times then when i came on i had it without noticing for awhile

its random - its a bug on the reputation part of the guild system - and it's completely random, sometimes it comes up middle of doing nothing in dalaran.

I'm 99% sure I know how to replicate this as I tested it with a couple people.
As you are in game, open up another wow, log into that same account and log into the same character. The first one will d/c and the new one should get the guild title with in a couple seconds. One restriction I noticed: people outside of your guild will not be able to see it.
