Nop, still working, at least on Arygos US. A few bombs WILL drop you to the ground still (check Bomb #2 of the video to check an example) , but the point is, YOU WON'T GET DISMOUNTED. That leaves you with the possibility of still being able to chase Skyshatter and go on with the race.

I got hit with all the bombs I could on purpose, and only halfway through the race I got thrown into the ground while still mounted.

From what I've noticed, the bombs that can drop you to the ground are random. You might still want to avoid as many bombs as possible, although I finished Skyshattered on the paladin after getting hit by ~12 or so bombs, none of them being the unlucky ones.

This won't get hotfixed.

1) Blizzard would have had to individually remove the meta impact effect of the Captain's attack manually. So it was done on purpose.

2) I don't think Blizzard really cares enough about BC achievements. It's like getting the Kara achievement. Way to go, /golfclap.
