Btw, don't know about other melees, but as a Feral Druid I managed to solo him with some effort in full furious pvp gear, so there is hope

It worked until he started spawning adds. Then I died. I'm sure it's possible on a strong healer, but I was using an elemental shaman with turble gear. The adds are easily killed, but their spawn rate is ridiculous for 1 person to deal with.

Whether or not this is a repost, idk. But this tactic was first used when level cap was 70. A warlock did it with his DoTs. Anyone with any DoT effects (lacerate, Poisons) or can absorb his damage for a few hits may be able to do it, albeit it would be a slow process.

As a feral druid i was able to solo, only had to jump up there a few times and pop out to heal.
