Cant login to local emu server

Hello I'm new to wow emu servers.

I downloaded an arcemu repack and followed a tutorial to setup the emu server but in the end when I try to use the wow.exe from my official wow directory to login to the local emu server it always connects me to the official wow servers. It wont let me use the admin/admin username/password combination. and I don't use the launcher.

I've already looked at a ton of forums for the answer but I got nowhere. I changed the realmlist.wtf file in the official wow data directory to point to 127.0.0.1 but that hasn't changed anything. I've even added a line in the config file in the WTF folder of wow to point to 127.0.0.1 but still no luck.

Can someone please shed some light onto why I'm not accessing the wow emu server that I setup? all the other files are running like the world and logonserver and sql files.

Depending on the version of the repack you probably don't have the right WoW version, try and set the realmlist to read-only and ensure you have the right WoW version and it is patched if it needs to be.

I think you're right about me having the wrong WoW version because of all the repacks I used, there were none higher than 5.1.0 and the current version of official Wow i'm running is 5.4.2. I don't know how to get older versions of wow because they are usually torrents and take two days to download! I can download the repacks b/c they're small downloads but older versions of wow take a long time.

You cant connect to different versions of WoW with the newer version, no real repack exists for Pandaria, only sand box mode.

To play the repacks you'll have to wait the time for it to download.

Current "most" played patches:
1.12.1 (Vanilla)
2.4.3 (Burning Crusade)
3.3.5 (Lich King)
4.0.6 (Cataclysm)
5.0.5 (Pandaria)

And you will have to p2p-download the patch you want and playing on more than one server (different patches) will require you to have two copies of the game.

Thanks everyone for the support so far.

So after finally downloading Wotlk to go with Arcemu I realize the game version I installed is 3.0.1 and I think I need 3.3.5a to use Arcemu. Unfortunately when I try to connect to the emu server from wow.exe it says "unable to validate game version." and won't let me logon. Does this have to do with the game version again and where do i download a manual patch from wotlk3.0.1 to 3.3.5a?

And go through and download each one, if not you will also have to torrent all of the patches.
