    Lan realmlist loop pls help

Bit new to this so hopefully I'm doing this right and mods don't fire arrows at me. I did search before posting, but nothing I found worked.

    Problem:
I was wondering if anyone might know the solution to this: I get stuck trying to connect by Lan or wireless on the realmlist. I login, realm selection comes up, click realm, realm selection comes up, click realm, and so forth.

    Tools Used:
Using a Mangos repack, ambergui, windows 7 64bit on server computer, 32-bit on other computer, and a cheap-o belkin router for Lan.

-Mangos repack has been used for Lan before for someone else.
-Belkin router has worked for Lan on other games very well despite being cheap junk.
-IP bind is set to 0.0.0.0
-localhost set to 127.0.0.1 (game runs fine when playing on the server comp itself)
-set realmlist to router's IP on Lan computer

I've tried the router IP exactly doesn't login so using the router IP of the server it does get to the realm loop.

Firewalls, server's are all off, tried with Lan comp's off though maybe its AVG or Avast? but don't think so if I recall I installed them after my first tries.

I'm stumped, I'm not sure what is set wrong to get it that far, but no farther. (I'm not a computer pro just above average enough to research figure out things as I need to)

Friend encountered the same issue trying to put his server online so perhaps its a common issue you pro's here know how to solve?

    Much thanks.

In the 'realmd' table in your database, there should be a table called 'realmlist' open that. Once you're in there, find the address column, and change the value to your Internal IP.

    That should work

Going to sound real dumb for this, but I'm not sure how to access the realmd.sql file to do that.

It was repack with a simple gui that I used. I tried originally to set it up solo, but well using MySQL broke my brain as every guide to its command line structure were written its own lingo which to a noob it may as well have been mandarin.

You're probably right on the solution since that would differ from PC to PC, but I'm too dumb to know the steps to change it @_@

sorry to keep this active, but I didn't really understand how to go about the earlier post that might fix it.

So I poked around some more to make sure the connection is solid. And I noticed the realmd.exe actually shows the hit, but does nothing.

    user 'name' successfully authenticated
    updating realm list...

Says the same thing for the host machine running the game, but passes on to the game without even asking what server I want.

    I'm so confused >_< why didn't I stay a CS major

First of all, you have to open the ports required.

Open your world config file, find "WORLD SERVER PORT", check what port it says there, if you haven't opened it, open it. Then start a SQLDB editor, like NAVICAT SQL or HEIDI SQL, log on the msql database, find "Realmd" , and there should be a table called "Realmlist", open it and edit realmID1 to fit your world config ports and IP.

Okay used HeidiSQL to change it to my IP. Didn't seem to do anything one way or another the server can still connect and Lan still fails.

Far as I know the ports are forwarded given that the realmd.exe consoles acknowledges that someone tries to access it. (Guess it wasn't a great time to go to windows 7 where I have no clue how to change any of that, nor could I find it in the belkin documentation. Shutoff firewalls as well and no dice.)

I've tried to read that guide before most of it is moonspeak to me.

    1. Repacks are bad, compile your own.
    2. You need to make sure that the IP addresses are correctly set to your IP, not 127.0.0.1.

Upload your configuration files to Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002! and post the links here.

Sorry for the delay work got a bit crazy and I wanted to try to start over and see if I can avoid troubling others with it. Tried the arcemu, but that gave me a 0xc000007b not going to even open error so oh well there.

Routers address is 192.168.2.1, but I have the realmlist set to 192.168.2.2 since that is the address of the computer connecting via lan. I would assume if I opened the ports wrong or messed up the realmlist I wouldn't get a logon at all to even see the realm selection. Though on the host machine logon never even gives a realm selection just goes directly to character selection.

I've tried using a few of the better guides to both mangos and arcemu to start over from my own compiles, but maybe other installations interfere or the fact the guides never quite line up to current versions messes me up somewhere.

    >_< bah if I can figure this out I'm half tempted to make one myself full of problems I ran into along the way just in case it can save someone this headache
