MMOWNED STAFF:
I begin by saying this is a question that might be concidered stretching the boundarys of
the thread/forum section (I wouldn't know, you tell me) so I appologize for that and
intend to leave a message for you administrators at the bottom of the post.
Hi ya'll"!
I don't know if it is 100% Right to post this in the Emulation Questions
Section since it involves clientside UI editing, but picture this scenario:
As you play on my server, I want you to be able to stay updated (thrugh
a client-side patch-enGB/US-3.MPQ ofc) on the features and happenings
on the webside and other messages or notifications of importance about the server.
Now, I ran a check on the entire GlueXML folder (Client-side login
interface) and ran into a few some-somethings' referring to the
ServerStatus field to your very left at the login screen (Amongst Acount
management button, official webpage, letters allowed in character names
- and tons after tons of usefull stuff).
Aand, as information asside of that, there's another file called
'signaturefile' in an MPQ archive located in the Data folder (I think it was
patch-MPQ) and this really bugged me too.
I Need to make full use of this serverstatus window for my own server, I
don't need, noir want, information on BL|zz4RD realms.
I also want to offer my personal technical support and redirect all links to
my server website, expecially those regarding troubleshooting.
Anyway, once I change theese files even the slightest, the Client goes
something like "Your login interface is corrupt, please reinstall the game".
I know for a fact that it is NOT corrupted, it should work accordingly,
but... the thing that really pisses me off is the 'GLUEXML.TOC.SIG' located
in the patch-enGN/US MPQ archive.
I know there's a connection to this file for the other files kept in
Interface/GlueXML.
This file probably checks the checksum of it's files affilliated and is
probably checked the same way by the client executable.
Does anyone know of a way to 'deactivate/bypass/create new' signature
files?
Help would be MUCH appreciated.
MMOWNED STAFF:
As far as I can tell, this deals with the behaviour between client-and-server just like any
server-related issue/release. Just like the changing of 'realmlist.wtf' and launcher
applications regarding that matter, this only differs from the majority of server issues as
being on the client-side.
As a metaphor; it takes two phones to make a phone call and you can't ignore the
phone that's ringing, saying it's out of topic because it's not make a phonecall itself.
The issue is connecting them together, right?
Correct me, move this question to a proper forumsection, if you concider me being
wrong, there just aren't any threads covering this matter anywhere :S.
Thanks!
