Herleybob - Ascent 2.3.0 Server Setup

On the Sql, I try to make those to ascent it brings something up that says there is one already made so i just left it and when i try to start up my server all goes good then it just goes to logoncommclient and starts saying sql query failed due to what ever its saying does not exist Please help me

Ok NVM, I got it to work after playing around with it in SqlYog. Thanks for all the effort and guideance.

How long does it take to host the server, not to setup just to start the server.

i have only gotten the server up on my own comp my friend couldnt connect through hamachi
so now im thinking about deleting all of the sql's and other programs i downloaded and stuff and gonna download all the newer stuff hopefully at my friends place as we just cant get it to work
and he doesnt want to setup the server as he doesnt understand a thing.

Did you go into the accounts folder under ascent in SQLYog and create an account? I had to go into it and actually create an account first. I did this by clicking on Ascent in SQLYog then clicking on Accounts and then I clicked at the top where the cylinder with an eye on it is to get it to show the table info on the right hand side. I then clicked in the window where it says acct and put a 1 there and then filled out the login with whatever login name you want then filled in the password with what ever password you want then i set the gm field to az so that this account has full gm access to all the commands, then i filled in the flags with an 8 so that i can play with the expansion BC. Then i was able to start up the server and game and actually login. Try that and let me know how that goes. I will applogize now if it takes me some time to respond due to the fact that I am currently deployed to Iraq and there is a huge time difference between here and the states.

Ok, I reread what you said and I dont think it hit me what you are saying correctly. So, you can log into WoW? or do you get the server going then click on WoW and you type in your account name and password then nothing happens? Let me know where in the process it fails and I will do my best to help figure it out.

I posted this a few posts back but here you go.....


You have to go into SQLYog then select the tables one at a time that are missing from the ascent folder but are located in the accounts folder. Select each one inside the accounts folder then right click on it and select copy to. it will copy the table into ascent. So, select 'ascent.accounts' which is in SQLyog under the accounts folder. then right click on it and select copy to. do that for each of the files that it says is missing or does not exist. They just are not located in the acsent folder on initial install. They are however in the Accounts folder. Hope this Helps

Yeah, that works. Almost as soon as I posted for help, I did that and it worked. It was kinda obvious, haha.

Although, I have BC, but I can't access the Outland or any of the BC Instances, including ZA.

Also, anyone have a good add-on made specifically for this version of Ascent? I'm using one that was made for antrix, and it works most of the time with ascent, but not all the time.

Everything goes on smooth, until I try to log onto the server with my user/pass that I created in SQLyog.. WoW says that "The informaion you entered is not valid. Please check the name and spelling of the usrname/pass" Ive checked it about half dozen times and im certain its the same. Any suggestions?

Where did you check in SQLYog? did you check in both the ascent folder under accounts and also in the accounts folder under accounts? Check both of those to make sure they match up. Hope that helps.

Its because you dont have an account set-up. Go into SQLyog and then look in the ascent folder for accounts then show the table data and see if there is an account set-up. if not add an account there and then do a refresh then check under the accounts folder under accounts and make sure it has the same info. Hope that helps.

I dont know what to say about why you cant get into Outland but I created another char after your post and lvled him to 70 and I was able to get into Outlands no problem. Tried 2 or 3 quests and they worked ok. Still a little buggy but I expect there to be for now. As far as add-ons I have no idea, I dont really use them too much and haven't even gotten to try with this repack yet and prob. wont till things get a little more stable. Sorry I couldnt be more help this time.

Does this work on EU Client?

I am trying to create the server, but just to be sure, to know if it is useless to download these stuff which might not even work..... I hope it works!!!
