Glad it served that.
Still need feedback to know if it helped new GMs though, that was what it was really ment for xD
Your guide is a godsend!
i had no idea how to GM before this and now i am running my own server
The only problem is.. Iv started making my own instance. And its in a quite tight area (5 man)
Whenever i try play out the instance like a normal group would i would aggro half the instance straight away and just wipe.
is there anyway to change the aggrorange of mobs?
Please help![]()
1) you might be level 1, have you modded your Level aready?
2) you need to be an admin to tinker with the range of mobs.
Find the mob ID in your SQL logs, and tinker with the aggro range.
3) if all else fails, Try to get mobs that are lower leveled. and when players arrive, mod their level to that of the mobs there.
also try the ".mod boundingradius" might get results. Its on the ".mod" command subsection of the GM commands. Give me feedback when you do it mmk?
And are they going through the walls?
If so, i cant help you there buddy =/

Well if the NPCS are walking thru walls then there's obviously something wrong with the wall. But the main thing is to check your level and with your server's admins about the aggro range.
good answer to that.
The problem could be a lot of things, and mostly it will be out of your hands if your just a GM.
Nice guide! I'm a relatively new GM, and it helped so much! (and I've only read like half of it!) I have a server of my own, and since you're currently serverless, I would be more than happy to let you be an admin on mine! It's sorta small, and its just run off of my pc, but it works pretty well. It's ascent and it's 2.4 compatible. Very few bugs. The IP is 7.doesntexist.com if you are interested.

Wow Skype, this is probably the best post I have EVER seen. Ty! =D
1) im acctually retired now, for a bit =P When i come back to wow ill think about it, but there are a lot of other people that offered to let me go on their server. Ultimatly i will probably just be a normal player with my freinds on dominon WoW =). Friendship is allways something greater.
2) thanks it means a lot to me that your keeping this thread alive, and that people appreciate my work. Oddly enough the contributors and the big fish out there seem to be ignoring my work, so its nice to know someone is reading what took a month to write. Its also makes me kind of sad that some people out there are trying to ignore this...
By the way, as of now, its been around the forums on the front page for 2 weeks. I think its a record =D
