Realmlist should state:

set realmlist localhost

thats for a single computer running both the game and the server

Unless u're talkin about the realmlist in the realmd database entry ?
U'll have to set the IP in the realmd realmlist to the server computers IP if u want more ppl to join it.

EX:
realmd/realmlist adress is 192.168.0.100
realmlist.wtf has to state: "set realmlist 192.168.0.100" for all computers wanting to join in on the fun

TY but I still can't get this to run. Swear I've gone through all the steps correctly but when I run the starter it crashes instantly. My realmlist says set realmlist localhost, I've edited the motd line, emptied the groups table. My realmd is set to "127.0.0.1;3306;root;freedom;********", and my mangosd has all three lines set to the same.

I'm lost as to what the problem is now.

yeah KingHippie Ive helped out a few people with their servers here so I know what im doing, and still I have the same problem mine crashes instantly too but I was able to read my error by changing the properties to open up as a windows 95 dos document so that it lagged lol, which stated:

DOTCONF++: file 'C:\Moffeman's Repack WoTLK\Mangosd.conf' , line 587: unterminated quote
Could not find configuration file mangosd.conf.

and closes immediatly

wish I knew how to fix it and I'm sure you have the same error if you figure it out tell me and I'll do the same gl =)

Try to place the repack on the desktop. It might work, I have it there so I guess it would be fine then

nice good job, i like mangos, seems a bit more stable though each emu seems to support differently.. good job anyways +rep

OK I tried moving the repack folder to my deskstop even though I already had a shoortcut to the starter there and still no luck. I have my Navicat running as well when I try starting the server. I just don't see why I'm still having issues here but thanks again for all your help folks.

Line 587 is the MotD entry in mangosd.conf. I changed the setting to:

MotD = "Welcome"

The server then started, albeit with a ton of database errors.

What does your MotD line say?

That should work. It is exactly how mine is set up. At this point, I honestly don't know what the problem is. I could try and make something up, but it wouldn't be fair to you. Hopefully, the releaser will come in, see it, and figure out what else it could be. My apologies on not being able to help.

hmm.....i cant execute database-wotlk.sql in my navicat..:-S any suggestion?

I noticed something in the mangosd.config. In the 1st two of the three server config lines there were 5 spaces after the = sign. Is that an error? I tried fixing it and still could'nt get server to start. Also are there any programs I should or shouldn't have running when trying to start the server? I have Navicat running but that is all. I did install Hamachi but not running atm.

How do you have your server running with hamachi or dyndns could be that you may still have some local host issue with the realmlist talking to loginserver instead of using perhaps your hamachi ip. Another thing is in your realmlist table u do have your hamachi ip or dyndns ip right?

Beyond that if your not using Hamachi perhaps you need to open some ports on your router. Not sure on the ports right now because I'm at work but I think they are fairly easy to find.
