Seems to me that you need to add your Hamachi IP as a user for your mysql server using navicat or something and give permission for full access to the mysql server login for your Hamachi IP because right now all that has access is your localhost 127.0.0.1 but if you add a login for your hamachi ip with full access to your mysql server it should clear up that issue.

I am new to this but my kids want me to make a server for them to play on privately. I followed instructions but got confused when it said to place my maps folder in the core folder. I'm assuming it's referring to the maps folder in my wow folder but not sure. Sorry folks I'm just an old guy trying to figure this out. So far when I run the mangos starter it just crashes immediately. Are there more in depth instructions for dummies like me? Thanks in advance for your help.

OK I found the tutorial but I was wondering if was important that my mysql was version 5.0. I have the latest 6.1 or something like that. Will the server work on that as well?

I have a problem.. Why other people can't connect to my server? I change the relmalist table, but nothing .. They said it's stuck on Connecting. Why? Can anyone help me with these? :confused:

13hrs of download and my navicat stopped responding, OH MY F*CKING GOD! wtb this executing shiat done faster -.- if it was ascent sql file it would've been done like ages ago. It goes fast until 125k, then it goes soooo slowlyand im sooo pissed off atm

How do you have your server running with hamachi or dyndns could be that you may still have some local host issue with the realmlist talking to loginserver instead of using perhaps your hamachi ip. Another thing is in your realmlist table u do have your hamachi ip or dyndns ip right?

Beyond that if your not using Hamachi perhaps you need to open some ports on your router. Not sure on the ports right now because I'm at work but I think they are fairly easy to find.

Perhaps use SQLYog (its another widely used program like navicat)

thats the same place you put the server example ascent folder for ascent

and mangos folder for mangos.

What can I say... I've tried so far around 4 different WotLK repacks and at last I found one that works. Thanks Moffeman.

BTW, if everyone follows the instructions from the other post, you will have your server running in no time and will have no errors.
