Ah well..
I never thought it would be a walk in the park, just easier than the previous patch since there doesn't appear to be a lot of major changes from the patch notes, but obviously I am wrong![]()
Its not like this is really new either, they have always done it and emulators have always been 100 steps behind. Its just the way it is. With a game like WoW that is updated so constantly no emu team will ever be able to really keep up because once we finally have the one patch working, blizzard has already released the next content patch.
IMO, we should just try to fix what we have, stay on 3.1 for a while and then when we feel ready move up to whatever is the latest, and then make that bugless and continue.
Not like that will ever happen though. :P People like new stuff even if it has 4 million bugs.
I live in a shoe
I know there is one Closed Source Core that has 3.1 under controll. However, I doubt Mangos or any other public emulator will keep up with that. This, due to alot people make servers for the wrong reasons, and also without giving the creators any credits.
But there are some things i believe that should be able to get past if the teams kinda worked together on harder projects. If say the database teams worked together they might find a way to get past there differences and find a way to finish these projects and make a better copy of WoW. I know this probably sounds impossible but i believe there might be a way to get past each teams differences.

Emulators are keeping up patchwise, but not featurewise. (Look at every emulator, things from vanilla still aren't working 100 percent).
Private emus are generally ftl, where major amount of their code comes from opensource projects.
That is partially true. Except look at Andy's core, he does all his own work.
See if we had some smart project leaders (no im not hinting myself in any couse i couldnt care less) then we could all combind and be pretty close to blizz. Instead of all this C+P of each others work which causes mass drama and no patch will be released on emu X then emu Y will attack emu Q ect. All bs tbh.
If you need me you have my skype, if you don't have my skype then you don't need me.
Emus will *always* be behind. It's a fact.
You can't know what Blizzard is doing until they release it, and then we have to reverse everything and find the changes. It's not exactly something 'quick and easy'. There's no possible way to stay 100% up to date with things.
