Mangos>All
Nuff said
Well wasn't there once an LUA engine for mangos? but I believe they quit is cause no one actually used it. If U have a little understanding of c++ U can still copy most of the scriptdev stuff and make easy scripts with it(As all people did).
I thought you were a proud user of Aspire?
Mangos is good for blizzlike servers and the current 3.0.2 patch
Scyther much respect to you as I've read most of your posts and contributions to mmowned but you stated "Some improvements." Bro, it's a little more than "some improvements." Almost two years in the making and Mangos (as good and EASY as the emulator is to use) has had terrible stability issues. So I'd like to rephrase the one part of the quote of yours. Instead of "Its a good emulator just needs some stability improvements," I'd have to say It's a great, easy-to-use emulator, that needs major stability enhancements.

Have you used it, Like in general nightmare lately. also think about ascent and how its falling apart. Facts, Burlex aint coming back nor is trelorn nor is any other ascent savior. Andy is the best we have. And arc is ironing out 2.4.3. Aspire is trying and are doing good. But in general you can't hover over an item on aspire 347 with out crashing. Ascent = Falling apart before every ones eye's. Mangos = Improving.
Mango's is the future lets face it.
@TheNlghtmare Yes i use aspire but at heart im a mango's lover.
Yes Mango's is the future but then all the drama will come to Mangos. More and more people will want and demand for the next patch etc. This will most likely to happen with Warth of the lich king.
most every one will switch to them. Lets just hope Mangos doesnt turn into the old falling apart ascent when burlex was doing 2.4.0
ahhhh
Wotlk isn't far away but I beleive mangos will make it because they have a steady team of C++ developers who work hard at what they do.
He has a point about it and i repped him for it mangos is a stable team of dev's glad someone finally brought that to the table.
O.K. , MaNGOS never got broken or closed source, they are always active, good support on there forums, good Community. And by the way if you want stable MaNGOS use milestones witch they have about every month or two. And MaGOS team is amazing they all communicate with each other and i don't think they work on any big private server at all (like WoWScape). They don't do it for money so there is not problem about releasing core updates for big patches like 3.0.2 or 2.4 , etc. They had 3.0.2 two days after retail release witch is good.

Find about scripting, programming and music! My blog: https://worldofsmth.wordpress.com!
This has never happened, and it never will. People are bugging MaNGOS about the next patch, but they all receive a nice "Soon" answer.
Sorry Mr.I'm-Too-Specific-For-My-Own-Good
I meant how is Ascent more customizable? It's all off the same base, there is barely any difference (Arc didn't make any dramatic feature changes).
Few of guys are complaining about the LUA support missing from mangos.
I understand it's much easier than c++ as languange, have you tried ACID ? SQL - Interface scripting which is evolving and developing more and more features all the time.
well im an arc user my self but i have used MaNGOS ever now an then i think there commands are great very good up time and easy to set up but they chnage it WEY! to much so ive just stuck with arc
Very good points actually. They aren't in it for the money. They're the classic classy open source. I will give Mangos that. I am slowly being persuaded to make the switch over to Mangos as soon as a list of stable servers is provided to and for me, as well as any other curious MMOwned member looking to make the switch to Mangos.
EDIT:It seems like ArcEmu doesn't care too much about the money either.Originally Posted by Hasbro of ArcEmu.org (October 19th, 2008)
No. I am an honest fellow and I admit I have recently not used Mangos for more than one day this year. I tested out a Mangos server and gave it a few hours worth of a run a day back in early September of 2008, and I still wasn't digging it. I am basing most of my opinions in April after the TBC retail release though. I'd just like a list of popular mainstream private servers that use mangos as proof to say the great stability some mangos users claim that they have. That's all. I'm really not arguing. I'd just like some proof. I constantly think about making the switch over from ArcEmu (and Ascent) over to Mangos, but there is no valid evidence of great servers with marvelous uptime from the research I have done. I'd just like a list of some good stable Mangos servers!
