WOTLK, setting up LAN

Okay, I set up a WOTLK server using this guide

and I'm happy to say that it works wonderfully

But I'd like to have it work over LAN so that me and my bro can play at the same time

I changed the 127.0.0.1 in the configs to my computers IP but when i try to start the server it says "host <computer name> is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"


I then tried keeping the IP's at 127.0.0.1 then changing my bros realmlist.wtf to my computers IP this let him log on but he got stuck at the realm selection

Please help me

Keep the Bind I.Ps at 0.0.0.0 so it listens at all adresses, then go into your database, open up your realmd database, go into realms and change the IP section to your computer's IP

You need to select the "Enable root access from remote machines" option in "MySQL Server Instance Configuration Wizard". Go to Start menu -> All programs -> MySQL -> MySQL Server 5.0 -> MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard
