Setting up a server for LAN?

Hi there, I've been searching the forums for some time now and i simply cant find any posts anywhere on how to set up a WoW server for lan!
I tried changing the IP's on the computers and i got to the server selection, but i couldnt select my server.
When i clicked on it, it just flashed and then went right back to the Server Selection screen.
Help would be very appreciated ASAP.

    Thanks in advance

i dont have to much experience with running LAN servers, but i would assume run it on a network and set all the computers to 127.0.0.1

Hey there, you cant make your IP start with 127. You can make your realmlist start with 127.0.0.1(Localhost), but not the IP. Thanks for trying though

Well I dont know if this works but try it, go to your realm.conf file, and open it and add a second realm to the list.

I had this issue before but I dont know if it will work, but its worth a try.

Re: Setting up a server for LAN?

maybe you should try using your router IP as a host? (192.168.0.1 or something like that)
or your pc IP trough router... (192.168.0.175 or something like that)
this is worth a try also :P

    grtz

Re: Setting up a server for LAN?

I've posted this like 5 times now.

    1. Set the server up so everything points to YOUR computer, as if you would be using it for your computer's access solely.
    2. Make sure it's up, running, and you can get onto it from the computer that's running it.
    3. On the secondary computer, which must be connected through a LAN, set your realmlist to the INTERNAL IP of the host computer.

How do I find my Internal IP?

A: Go to your Start menu, click on Run...
A2: Type in cmd and then start it.
A3: When in the command console, type in ipconfig, the first IP address, starting with 192.168.0, is your internal IP.

    Have fun.
Since I no longer fear getting banned, judging by what MMOwned has become, I'll start being honest now.
