just got a response back to my appeal-denied

This is the latest response from Customer Support:
World of Warcraft License Issue - Unauthorized Software Found

Thank you for your follow-up contact regarding the license . This license was issued a 72-hour suspension after one or more characters on the license were found to be using an unauthorized cheat program. These programs provide character benefits that are not achievable in the World of Warcraft through normal means. Such benefits include character automation (also known as "botting"), increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls or boundaries. These types of programs offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game.

As a result of this determination and the harmful nature of unauthorized programs on the game environment, the action taken against this license will not be reversed. Please understand that we do not reach this decision lightly. This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use).

You are responsible for any unauthorized cheat software found to be running in conjunction with World of Warcraft, regardless of the location and ownership of the computer used to log in to the game. Please remember to keep your login information confidential. Any license registered to your name may not be shared with anyone except one minor of whom you are a parent or guardian. The security of your license rests with you.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact us: http://www.battle.net/support/ticket/submit

How does a ticket status changed to “Resolved”?
-By you. You can mark a ticket as “Resolved” if you are satisfied with the answer provided in the ticket.
-By our system. Our system will automatically resolve tickets that have a status of “Answered” or "Need Info" for more than 7 days.
-By Customer Support. For tickets that were created over the phone or in-game, Customer Support will mark the ticket as “Resolved” after we get confirmation from you. However, you can always either reopen the ticket or create a new ticket if the problem reoccurs.

    What can I do next?
    - Take the customer satisfaction survey. Your answers to this quick survey will let us know what you thought of our customer support, and will help us improve our efforts in the future. Take the survey at <http://us.battle.net/support/survey/42576407>.

What if the problem happens again?
You can either reopen your ticket, or create a new ticket, after it's been marked as "Resolved."

    Regards,

    The Customer Support Team

Why do people protest a 72 hour ban when you KNOW you were botting? Just suck it up and wait 3 days. Now perm bans ofc, protest away, but why press your luck when you got off with a slap on the wrist?

Just design a bot that helps people be good at pvp, and most of your goal will be successful.

I only used PQR / PQI for leveling and end game, no pvp what so ever and got 72hrs
I only used in pve with manual interrupt a few times for my offspec and got perma banned =.= as I started before and also never been banned before for anything and never gotten a warning. I was using old offsets though and when I updated pqr I was banned 20 min later, not sure if that was a coincidence.

So... If you pay bot and get banned you get your money back from bot maker and new WoW account because their bot was so perfect? As I did once say that I did test one bot (costly bot) one day (trial day) what cost about 2-3$ and with out warning they did want to get 24,95$/month from me so I cancel it as fast I did get mail from PayPal about it. Then I did go and yell them on their forum as loud I did can about trying to fk me over. So that why I dont use or gona use never bots what cost money to me.

For those that need to know: Used PQR/PQI strictly on PvE, never on PvP. Was used almost daily since the beginning of MoP (raids only)
WOW same here I started with it in mop and used it daily for pve only top in raids got to 11/14h this time around full clear in tot, msv ,hof ,and tes heroic. and only got a 72 hr ban not a perm I know your happy about it but I fill still had and a lil bad to my fellow wow players who got a perm ban for all this shit , thay should go after the real botters not some rotation addon called a bot that lets us see endgame. my heart go's out to all who are true and did noting but used pqr.

Here's my negative ticket response (it differs a little to the usual types so may be worth a read): -

Your account was suspended due to use of third party programs over the course of the last 3 months, which is against the Terms of Use:
Blizzard Entertainment: World of Warcraft Terms of Use

When running, the World of Warcraft client may monitor your computer's random access memory (ram) and/or cpu processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with World of Warcraft. An unauthorized third party program as used herein shall be defined as any third party software, including without limitation any addon or mod, that in Blizzard Entertainment's sole determination:

    I. enables or facilitates cheating of any type;

II. allows users to modify or hack the World of Warcraft interface, environment, and/or experience in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard Entertainment; or

III. intercepts, mines, or otherwise collects information from or through World of Warcraft. In the event that World of Warcraft detects an unauthorized third party program, Blizzard may

    a) communicate information back to blizzard entertainment, including without limitation your account name, details about the unauthorized third party program detected, and the time and date the unauthorized third party program was detected; and/or

    b) exercise any or all of its rights under section 6 of this agreement, with or without prior notice to the user.

The use of such programs or files is clearly unfair to the World of Warcraft community playing regularly and is not tolerated on our servers.

Following a review of your case, we can confirm that such programs have been used on several occasions by your account, and that the subsequent action taken is appropriate. We would not look to enter into any further communications on this issue as the matter is now considered closed.
Couple of pointers, 'last 3 months' and the card being played about 'accessing ram / cpu processes'.

If you think about it, it's smart business. IF AND I SAY IF, there were truly 500k accounts banned or 72 suspened, take the 500k and divide it by 2 for a generous split of bans vs. suspensions. Then if you take the "banned' section and again generously divide by 2 you would get 125k people who will by another account and keep on playing... 125k x 20 = 2.5 million dollars. So if you were the CFO, aka Chief Financial Officer of Blizzard, because if you don't think he is involved in this type of decision you are insane. Wouldn't you say yes as well ? Grand scheme, satisfy customers who hate botters, make 2.5 million in likely less than 2 weeks dependent on how long it takes them to respond to everyone's appeals and make Q1 look pretty to their shareholders ?
I think it's more complicated than that.
It seems plausible that a larger than normal percentage of the people who use this kind of software, could be a bit more hardcore in their way of gaming. They might be multi-boxers or have multiple accounts for other kinds of botting.
I myself own 15 licenses and have had up to 7 active subscriptions at some points.
If some core members of a guild were also affected by the banwave it might cause them to quit the game, which might break a guild as a result, as they could have lost their officers/leader/main-tank etc. This might cause people who weren't using PQR to quit aswell, as raiding with their guild could be the only thing keeping them in-game.

Of course there's no way of knowing what effects it might have and I'm sure Blizzard has done some serious calculations deeming it profitable. I'm just saying there's more to it than just dividing a couple of numbers.

On a side-note I feel kind of relieved to have been banned. I've long wanted to quit the game, but haven't had the willpower to do it.
A part of me wishes that I had only received a 72-hour suspension. That way I could have logged in one last time to give all my stuff away to random strangers. With that comes the risk of getting addicted to the game again though, so maybe it's for the best that it was a perma-ban.

Could be a big destroyer depending on actual number of banned, plus with the legendary cape being a "must" and taking min of 6 weeks it will put people off. But majority of people got 72hr

My guess is that they simply searched for the pqr process and reading through the forum posts perma and 72h bans went out quite randomly. Maybe the frequency of the usage could have been a factor. Anyway it seems to me that there are more 72h suspesions than bans which clearly indicates that they did not want to lose too many subscriptions. Anyway i will not play without PQR so -1 sub and yeah i know that it is nothing for Blizzard and noone cares :P On the other hand i am pretty sure that more than half of the banned accounts will rebuy everything.

Big thanks to Xelper and every profile writer out there.

As a last thought: it was fun while it lasted but at least i can focus on more important things and other games

    Edit:
    This is the best summary:
