I lost 2 accounts and several 80's. As did one of my best friends and my mom (lol sorry mam.) So we all bought new keys and made a RAF chainIt's pretty fun being able to give eachother levels and stuff like that.
And to be quite honest. This actually made me wanna play and hack WoW even more than before. Banning my account was just like shooting adrenaline into a guy about to rob a bank. It'll make the process even more enjoyable
Also changed faction, realm and class. YAY for new content
Knowledge is often mistaken for intelligence. This is like mistaking a cup of milk for a cow.
1 Question.
Can I use the CD key that used in the banned account for other accounts?
Or should I buy another Retail Box?
This here is an example of the third best way of going about asking for something on this site. I'm so impressed that it's not the usual style of "you suck! give me what I want nao!" I'll be happy to slap something together for you for 2.4.3. Give me a couple days to sort some other stuff out though.
Word. It's cool. It's like when you were a kid.. Parents said "DUN TOUCH DAT" and still you had to, because you wasn't supposed to. If they would be like "lol just touch it" it wouldnt be as exciting to do so you wouldn't. Human nature is curious. And stupid. Lol. =D
Btw love the raf chain dude <3
I really cant stand these whinging leachers complaining about LUANinja getting them banned.
Where the hell did you get this idea that Cypher owes you anything, and how do you figure that your getting banned is in any way his fault.
YOU CHEATED AND GOT CAUGHT. You knew the risk and lost your gamble.
Cypher wrote a tool, released it and updated it for free.
When you can write your own, feel free to do so, then you wont have to take the risk of a public hack.
Untill then join the other users in thanking him for the use of the tool for 3 months, and count yourselves lucky that he even released it for free to the public.
Its whinging leachers like you that mean alot of stuff never goes public.
As always, thanks to Cypher/Kynox/Harko for releasing/testing and generally sharing your knowledge. for every self entitled whinger there are many more apreciative users(or leachers like me)
Greyman, I appreciate the rather calm response. Few comments...
What assertions are you making a reference to? I was merely explaining to someone that it doesn't matter if it was AddOn code or macros that have been executed that flagged these now banned accounts, but rather what the engine then passed on to the servers. I might have gotten my terminology wrong, but I assure you the essence of how macro api and lua scripting is handled at the end of the line is not lost on me.
Right, and that was my point in asking if it has been determined whether the cause for the flagging was due to the protected functions being passed from the clients or the actual injection process. Kynox's own blog states that it seems Warden has been tabulating all the users who have been using the hack since Dec 19th (Dribble Blog Archive Banwave in effect - Just another WordPress weblog). However, the conclusions he and Harko arrive at do not seem to hold any water based on my own (Win7x64) and most of the commenters' experiences on that thread.
Apologies if my contributions to this thread have been deemed destructive to the otherwise calm, Kumbaya pace of this site.
I am sure I didn't win any points with the elders of the forum when I questioned Cypher's attitude towards shell-shocked users just trying to figure out what happened (http://www.mmowned.com/forums/bots-p...ml#post1785049). Whether or not that was why my later comments were disected certainly seems causal.
It's NOT clear to me, however, why the schoolyard name-calling?
I am sure you guys are totally chill, articulate, and humorous dudes, and many a time I have laughed at some of the quippy one-liners that are used on noobs. It's unfortunate that I really riled up some of you, but I don't regret voicing my opinions last night.
I leave you with the sentiments I wrote as soon as I witnessed mistimed snarkiness:
You judge for yourself if that warranted the backlash that someone should expect after making a civil comment.

Collini OUT.

OK GUYS, shut your fat mouths. The past 20 pages of people flaming/nerd raging at each other are all the exact same posts being re written by diff people stating the same thing.
IT IS NOW TIME
for all of us to unite and seek revenge on blizzard.
Today, was a day to remember but in the end we will always be victorious.
I have received the will of god, and I must kill Blizzard.
FOR THE HORDE!!!!!
This is the flawed assumption that you continue to propagate. A serverside scan (which is what was being referred to in the post you originally quoted) can pick up macro code. It cannot pick up addon code.
The person making the original post was actively contributing something by eliminating the possibilty of the bans being serverside. Unfortunately all you were doing was getting in the way, despite the best of intentions.
This really has been done to death. I think anyone reading the thread can draw their own conclusions based on our posts. The back and forth is achieving nothing at this point.
Haha, I'll pay that.Apologies if my contributions to this thread have been deemed destructive to the otherwise calm, Kumbaya pace of this site.
However, most people aren't spreading misinformation and STILL claiming it's correct when it is not - they're merely QQ'ing on a large scale. QQ is harmless. Misinformation can cause problems for people.
You seem like a cool dude - minus the overly confident, seemingly uninformed speculation/misinformation. You may not regret your opinion, such as it was, but you also can't complain when people call you out on it being incorrect. That's the nature of the site.
Also FYI - your earlier post to Cypher and this back and forth are not even remotely causal. You can drop that conspiracy theory.
I really couldn't care less what you say about/to Cypher, Kynox, Apoc or any other 'luminary' of this site or others. I was and will continue to criticize the technical content of your post, not the person behind it.
As repeated ad nauseum throughout this thread: Misinformation is bad. Particularly during a banwave.

Are there any specifics as to how this was detected if Warden wasn't updated? I thought what we did was only on the client side.. and in order for it to be detected, we'd have to download something.. O.o; Someone want to fill me in? I'm curious.
Greyman, again I thank you for maintaining a civil discourse in responding; and no, I am not trying to come off patronizing.
I thought the whole of your response was right on, save for the very beginning.
Somehow my original point (or at least what I was attempting to say) did not come through properly. I tried to clarify in my subsequent posts that whether the originating user action is derived from a macro or Lua code within an addon the resulting function being executed server-side is still going to be (potentially) logged/flagged. I believe Kynox said the same thing in a later post:
I welcome the chance to learn from you guys, and if my understanding is still off, please do correct me.
Cheers.
