I agree, I find the case a bit silly. However there must be a good reason for the case, I am not expert at glider but blizzard must have a good reason for suing. (copyright infringement maybe? not sure) or else there wouldnt have been a case in the first place. That or MYD will win because blizzards reason isnt good enough.
Oh my, its very funny people take it serious when the auction house is being inflated. Its like we all live in that world. And MDY Might lose to the fact its acessing a games memory, but since the game is installed on the clients computer, and the values are sent to the client, there is no way we are acessing blizzards data. Technically, its our data that is going through our RAM. And not blizzards, I will look into the case and file a report back here to give a closer look.
Some people should not even try.
They should keep thinking they know, and then keep those thoughts to themselves; Because they have no idea.
So anyone actually have any NEWS about this?
I dont see how this can still be going on... Are there that many legal proccedures that must be done? Or is Blizzards case just not that strong?
The fact of it is, MDY will loose, Blizzards case is way too strong. If you look through the entire proceedings Blizzard has an avalanche of evidence to support its case.
What MDY is tyring to do now is limit the damage done to Mercury, Blizzard is trying to make Mercury personally liable for the damages to Blizzard, which would effectively ruin him as a person and set a precident that Blizz could go after any bot makers personally and pretty much be able to destory anyone who makes any bot.
On the other side, if the personal liability is dismissed form Merc it is MORE than likely MDY will still be permanently shut down.
Blizz has done very well in this case, theyve already unfortunately won in my eyes, now is just battling for the fallout.
Possible outcomes.
1. Blizz losses alltogether > very low, the initial ruling is already in their favor, apealing this will most likely do nothing.
2. Worst case scenario > Blizz wins and Merc is found personally liable for the damages > MDY and merc would most likely be entirely ruined. Blizz would also be able to file against every bot creator out there holidng them personally liable. This would make creating any bot way too risky for any person to do.
3. Most likely outcome > Blizz wins against MDY but Merc is found not personally liable. MDY would be finished and any oher companies selling Botting or supporting platforms would be targetted by blizz.
oh goody a thread for people to think they know law when they don't QQ. Oh well atleast it keeps all the leechers from spamming up our boards!
Haha, Like I said. They have no idea; 98% of the posters in this thread are clueless..
Much like these Obama voters; Howard Stern Obama Black Vote
Nothing against Obama, I'm sure you're going to be a great president..![]()
I thought the judge was supposed to make a statement last week?
Its funny that the higher members of this web site are making fools of themselfs bashing other people in this thread, and not giving there own opinion. I am sure it said no flaming...
Blizzard made a lawsuit against Brian Kop too for his leveling guide and he won it so u can't be sure who wins this case![]()
im almost certain that if MDY does lose, the creators or even someone else will just take the program, edit it a little and make a new company. Besides, there are already lots of alternatives. Blizzard should take all the money they are putting into court cases and put it into coming up with an idea to ban bots perminantly!
Good luck to the company that has made the wow + having a girlfriend dream come true :P
