Hey guys, I've been through the whole process of deleting DBC-s and updating WOW-MEs, and I can now log in with my model edits on, only deal is my boots won't appear, I suspect it being related to the fact I'm changing from Tauren to other things. Any ideas how I can fix it?

I'd like to know where, I've checked quite a few of those links on google and still haven't found a legit place to download mpq master from.

For any of you guys that have been able to correctly edit the MPQs, is there a chance that they could get hosted and linked so that us noobs can use them as well? I know I for one am crying having to look at my Male Orc instead of a Male Gnome. I'm sure there are tons of people out there that would be extremely grateful.

Ok, There are two Differnt things being talked about in this thread:

    1. Some people updated patch 3.2 with WoWme and the Model Edite MPQ files still in their World of Warcraft folder. If you did this your patch files in your data folder are now screwed up. If you do not have a back up world of warcraft folder you are probally going to have to re-install.

    2. For those who are trying to get your simple character modle edits to work:
When you are trying to run your WoWme and it doesnt open wow it is because you are going to need to use a MPQ Editer Program (google search and download something, ex. MPQ Master) Open the MPQ Editor, on your left side there are the folders with the modification files. Go on the DBFilesClient and delete only the ChrRaces.dbc file. Then close that, and Run WoWme and you should be good to go.

If we did accidentally update to patch 3.2 with our edits still in the data folder, couldnt we just delete the stuff in the data folder and run the repair tool instead of completely reinstalling?

It seems that we no longer need WoWME. I logged in without it up and the models are still edited. There was no crash or anything. Seems like blizz took off the protection.

hey would that solve my issue; i get knocked out of the game instantly when launching wowme having patch.MPQ file for old poison animation in my data folder?

yeah wanted to write this yesterday too, i think it's something like a trap that you can use Modelchanges without the MEFix now, so that Blizz can actually ban some peoples more accurate and faster

So modeledits working without wowme.exe has anything to do with blizzard inactivating scan.dll, or is it a trap?

My guess is they only want to prevent people cheating, and don't really mind "neutral" model edits. That's why they have Warden check certain files which were commonly used to cheat (battleground maps, 'spawned' items like flags, cooking fire, etc). Now that Warden prevents you from cheating, they decided to cancel out their previous attempts to prevent model editing (for those who haven't been using it that long - there was a time where you only needed to throw the patch-#.MPQ in your /Data/ folder and nothing else, the game loaded all of the files there).

I really doubt this is a "trap" simply because they don't need to set up one. They already have a list of files that Warden checks, they could simply expand that list and prevent us from editing / catch us. It would cost them just a couple of lines of code, they could do it any time of the day (Warden updates are transparent for the player), yet they didn't.

Although it might be that they simply made some awful mistake and somehow screwed their code. This theory is also supported by the fact that Kynox actually updated it to 3.2 without noticing that MPQs load without the MEfix now - means it's all still there.
