Sorry for any downtime guys - Until now I've been able to handle the additional load from other developer's scraping my data (how ironic), but it's now causing issues.

For context, the API is currently being hit at 10 fold it's designed capacity, which means capacity for catching gets programmatically assigned to help. Given 99%+ of users are using the service for free, adding even more servers to the pool to cope with load isn't feasable - Plus, I'm not going to make you pay for other sites using my data.

I'm more than happy for other developer's to use the data, but please ask so we can come up with a sustainable way of doing so.

In order to give fair warning, I will be releasing a change tomorrow that will require any API calls to have a valid token and all calls will be limited to 1 per 2 seconds (as per the site). As a temporary fix, IP blocking has been enabled for anyone doing more than 60 requests a minute.

All of the server issues now appear to be resolved and everything is processing as normal.

Can you constantly catch the pokemon like more then twice? will you get ban for doing that?

have caught 10 dratini in a row within 30 minutes, still not banned... this was like a week ago so we'll see. Lol

So far I've had no reports of any bans, regardless of how people often people are catching through the site.

Hmm so I tried to catch a pokemon and it says error that the pokemon ran away. I heard that I got softbanned so is there anyway to stop it?

Soft bans only last 15-30 minutes.

Please make sure that you stay out of your app for at least 30 minutes before trying to use the site.

Do you mean the Pokemon always gets away?

I can see only 8% of Pokemon in the last hour were unsuccessfully caught.

Edit 2: after a couple of hours working again, soft ban from first Pokemon try?
