Does Exiled-Bot write memory? If I had to guess, they do to enable background input. This only protects against programs that read memory. Once you start changing memory or hooking functions, PoE doesn't NEED permissions to check its own memory.

What's the point of using runas.exe. If you can just shift+rclick and login with another user? Also, i still can't use runas.exe with all suggestions from this post. Getting contect.ggpk error.

The purpose is it's a click away instead of a shift-right-click + typing in credentials.

Ahh... even easier. Somehow working directory is not getting read by the process we start.
Make a shortcut like this (you could replace you Path of Exile path):

Working directory

From my experiments with different methods of anti-3rd party protection bots are not safe. Which is probably a good thing: market looks more stable and not over-inflated... of course there are downsides (looking for example on the prices of lower currences got hit by this). My personal feeling is that bot-farms are very bad in the long run for the game economy (I've experienced this in many games), single-character botters have much smaller impact (but I would not say that impact is in-significant).


Different thing is 3rd party software like PoEHUD that can be treated as mods that upgrade the game with features that community needs. In some way high demand for tools like Stashie, auto-ident, auto-cast and auto-crafters show what PoE lacks... what is difficult or unpleasant for the players. Of course there is grey area like special-objects detection (preload), auto-potions, auto loot (with live filtration), but I as a user of those I am not in position to judge it...

i tried this and for some reason im getting an error unable-to-acquire-user-password and yes im sure im typing in the right one

It's more likely that you and and your friend were using many plugins with poehud - some of which are known to be dangerous. Autopot, Stashie, Pickit...and even poeutils, which isn't even a poehud plugin, are all dangerous and suspect at this point. Using PoeHud with no plugins enabled should still be safe...I say 'should' lightly, though.

You should tell your friend to send an email to GGG support to see if he can get his account reinstated. Do NOT admit to using the HUD, or any other program, and ask if they can provide proof that he/she was cheating. I can almost guarantee that they won't be able to provide any proof.

I have more than 12 days of gameplay with Hud on, and my account still alive.
Maybe your friend has set the limited account wrong or maybe he's "just lucky".

Unless one of the one or two people actively looking for the payload were able to get a hold of it, the "expert" people can only make assumptions off reports. With one or two reports of limited user failing, I'd suspect the user did it wrong. There have been multiple reports of both being safe and being banned using limited user, so we just don't know for certain.

I'm sorry for the missinformation here, one of my friends got banned and I thought this was no longer safe.

He probably was botting or using some kind of hack together with hud, cause my other guild maters using hud only and with limited user method still alive, as I said on the hud thread already.

It is also entirely possible that they could be using some other means of detection which doesn't catch everyone, or that they only turned it on for a very small amount of time and those that survived happened to be offline. We don't have enough data to determine one way or the other.

Yes as I said previously GGG is doing some weird ban waves and its kinda confusing whats going on ( what is safe and what is not safe ) at the moment.

I would say if ppl really love their accounts to not use anything.

If you like your account but u like hud, do like me and use limited user =p

If you dont give a fuck and playing on fake accounts then just use anything and u probably will be banned soon.

Thats more or less our current situation
